My only guess would be that Sun was having weird pain and she may have instinctively known something was amiss. As you may recall what her OB said when the blessed event was about to occur.;)
Was it just me or did Sun seem surprised that she was having the baby (so soon?) on the phone she said I am pregnant and something is wrong. If it had been a regular 9 mo pregnancy wouldn't she have said I am going into labor?
By the way, I have no idea how to do the spoiler box thingie, so I hope I haven't said too much already

I don't know, I was a little confused about that. But she was packing an overnight bag before she called for an ambulance and said that something was wrong.

I think maybe she was in labor and was getting ready to go to the hospital but then realized that there was something wrong and so called for an ambulance.

And didn't the doctor tell her something about the medications making it so that the baby couldn't be born naturally and he had to do a c-section? But then the baby was born naturally... I thought maybe he was referring to meds she had to take because of her pregnancy being abnormal due to the baby being conceived on the island....

Is Penny's dad a good guy for trying to investigate this whole plane crash thing? And is Ben really behind the coverup? I thought Ben was just as surprised as everyone else by the plane crashing. But then again, he has files on everyone... and a list. I'm confused.

I'm really confused as to why Penny's dad is behind the investigation. It seems to me that she doesn't know about her dad's investigation because she didn't know about Naomi or the boat. I wonder how he's involved with Dharma. Thinking back, I also wonder what Penny meant when she told Desmond that she's been researching the island (am I remembering that right?).

I did not cry when Charlie died. Maybe because I knew it was coming, more likely because I was not that attached to his character. I didn't think I was that attached to Jin and Sun either, but..... man. I cried. :(

When Hurley showed up at the door, it just made me love him even more. He might be the most likable character on television, ever. BUT -- when he asked if anyone else was coming, and Sun said no, why did he say, "Good"? This had to be just months after the rescue, why is he so weary to see anyone else already?

Wow, I did not catch that at all. I'm very curious now. Could the '84 date be his wedding date?

I was also confused as to why Hurley said good. I agree with him being so sweet and lovable though!

Has Michael been brainwashed into believing that Kevin Johnson really is his name?

I doubt that. I think it's just a disguise.

I've a couple other thoughts, and I wanted to make a new post for them.

- Will Juliet end up explaining more of her past, at least to Sun, considering what she did to Sun and Jin?

- When in time was it that we saw Hurley come and visit Sun? (and yes, Red...I had those same thoughts for a bit)

- Why did Hurley say "Good!" about the others not coming, since he seemed at least somewhat glad to see Jack when he was in the hospital. And Sun didn't seem to disagree.

- Looking waaaay back....we discovered that the expensive watch was something Jin was to deliver as part of his job. Since it's been lost...could it be that another "hit man" took care of Jin, and that's why he's dead?

- Sayid and Desmond are told not to trust the captain...and yet the captain seems to provide the most frank and credible information about what is/has gone on...including telling them about the underwater plane wreck. When do we find out why they shouldn't trust him? Or should they?

- Where's Walt? Last we saw, he was with Michael.

So...we've seen Oceanic 6 who:

- Never went with Locke - Jack

- Went with Locke and left him - Hurley

- Banished by Locke - Kate

- Seeking to go to Locke and never actually going - Sun with Jin.

I don't think we've seen all 6 yet, as I'm not counting Aaron.

It was really nice to see Bernard again. We last hear him talking about "karma" and what goes around, comes around. Maybe part of why Jin was so forgiving, is because he knew his own past better than anyone, and wanted to have a big role in turning around all the damage he'd done in his own marriage....and the damage he's done in the world...to keep damage from coming onto his unborn child.

Where did Frank take the helicopter? And lima beans?

What's with the doctor being so dispassionate? He's just creepy.

   Ooops! :swoon: :swoon: :swoon:

I messed up! :sorry:

I forgot Sayid! How I did that, I don't know, but I did.

Sorry about that.

Last nights epidoe was amazing! I never suspected that Jin's was a flash forward, but I did think it a little that he seemed so...mad. And that he was making such a big deal about a panda; but it all fit when I figured it out. I cried. I am so upset that Jin and Sun aren't together. (Well, we don't that for SURE yet, but ya know...) GRRRR!!!! But, still, amazing episode.

And I am so stinking crazed for next weeks! I wonder who's going to die? Claire, maybe? We know she's not one of the Oceanic Six, and since SHE is supposed to raise Aaron, I'm guessing she dies.

And what about Desmond's vision about Claire and Aaron getting on a helicopter? Thatw as the whole reason Charlie gave his life, so that she and Aaron could get off the island.

Ok...I was wondering about Jin's 'flash' bit right from the start - specifically, from when I saw his cell phone. No expert, but cellphones like that went out of style something like ten or twelve years ago.

The freighter is also starting to sound like the ship from Hell. So far the dead include:

1 senior crew/project manager (Naomi);

the radio operator (whatever his name was);

the radio operators buddy (whatever his name was);

and Regina, who walked off the deck while wrapped in chains.

And then there was the matter of the guest cabin with the brilliant bloodstain decorating the wall, plus the truly lousy food (lima beans?!?)

Not to mention having a murderous obsessive like Michael as a member of the crew.

Ship like that probably only has twelve or fifteen crew to start with...

As to the 'Oceanic Six' and the lostaways still on the island...I think that is where that chopper comes in. They had serious weight issues coming and going the first time, enough to the point where people were bailing out in the dark in expectation of a near certain crash landing. Plus, given all the problems he has, my guess is the good captain will take off the minute he gets his engines even semi functional. That means the people who don't get on this next chopper out ain't gunna get out.

Sayid and Desmond are already on board the freighter - but Desmond doesn't count as a member of the 'Oceanic Six'.

The freighter folk already on the island are going to do absolutely everything they can to get Ben on that chopper - and I can see one way that he might voluntarily agree to do so, and that way leads directly to his campaign of assassination afterwards.

Jack will go on the chopper to try to talk the captain into hanging around a while longer. Kate will get on the chopper to be with Jack.

For Sun, its simple - get off the island or die; Jin and Juliette are going to do everything in their power to get her on that chopper.

I don't know just how or why Hurly gets on board, but probably something suitably convoluted.

I have some very nasty suspicions as to why Claire and Jin didn't get on board; quite simply I think they, along with quite a few of the rest of the lostaways, end up getting killed (massacred) in the events to come.

(I am also going to go a short ways out on a sturdy tree branch here and say that Locke climbs into Bens shoes, assuming control not only of the left behind lostaways, but of whats left of the 'Others' as well - and likely has Bens reluctant blessing for this in the bargain).

I think there is a good possibility of this.

We *finally* watched it last night. Now I get to go through and read this whole thread :p

We totally called it mid way through the episode that one was a flash forward and the other was a flash back. REALLY cool episode.

I understand what you're saying -- but I don't agree. :)

Including the flashback for Jin could have had a number of valid plot-worthy reasons. Sun may have been fantasizing this as she was in labor. She may have remembered Jin telling her that story, and while she was calling out for him, she may have been imagining the reason he wasn't there was because he was out running around trying to find a panda bear for her.

It might have been included to juxtapose the difference in the man Jin was then, and the man he is now. Jin forgave Sun because he knew he was a colder, emotionally withheld, different man back then. That man had fits of rage, threatened to kill men who stole cabs from him, stomped on broken cell phones, bribed shop owners for bears that were held for other customers, did what his boss told him to do no matter what it was, no matter how he had to do it, and callously told a hospital nurse, "It wasn't my baby. Don't rush me, I've only been married two months."

Juxtapose that Jin we saw in the flashback, with the Jin who stood by his pregnant wife even after learning she'd had an affair, the Jin who was willing to follow her wherever she wanted to go, even to Locke's camp, the Jin who loved her with all his heart and made sure she knew it. His flashback was a reminder to Sun perhaps, but definitely to the viewers, of how far he had come since arriving on the island.

I didn't think it was pointless at all, really. I thought it was kind of lovely. And it sure blew my pants off when I figured it out. ;)
I totally agree Snooch.

I thought this was an awesome episode. Early on in the season FB and I talked about how now that they are doing FF & FB's they could really play around and incorporate a FF and FB in the same episode. I think they delivered it in a really great way. I was totally blown away.

My initial reaction was the Jin had gone back to his "old ways" and that he was neglecting Sun for his work (which we've seen in the past). And when the nurse asked about the baby being his and his reply was "I've only been married 2 months" the light bulb went on and I started questioning what was going on.

It was nice to see Michael. I was actually surprised to see in the preview for next week, Sayid was so angry to see him. I somehow thought that they would be relieved to see Michael. Needless to say I am soooooooo looking forward to next week's episode. Especially Ben's little comment about "what are you willing to do to for your son" or something along those lines...

So...we've seen Oceanic 6 who:

- Never went with Locke - Jack

- Went with Locke and left him - Hurley

- Banished by Locke - Kate

- Seeking to go to Locke and never actually going - Sun with Jin.

I don't think we've seen all 6 yet, as I'm not counting Aaron. .

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Damond Lindelof and Carelton Cuse said in the latest LOST podcast that in this episode we would know just exactly WHO the Oceanic 6 are; all of them. So that means that Aaron is considered one of the 6 :)

Do they know at this point that Michael shot Libby and Ana Lucia? They must, right? Or do they think Ben was responsible?

I understand your point, Pete.

But, there's already a thread to talk about next week's episode....with spoiler tags used until after the show airs. SignoftheFishburger even started it this week. That's the way things have always been done around here.

It frustrates me since it's set up this way....by concensus of the folks who started this section....and then folks will discuss things here....and I read this with no warning, since I read all the posts thoroughly here.

Yeah, that would make me mad too....very mad....just doesn't mean I want to know that's what next week's episode is about. For all I knew, it could have been about anything.

We turn it off as soon as "Bad Robot!" comes on the screen.

I believe my post was a polite request to please go by the guidelines the regulars all know.

I can't remember but didn't Michael finally to confess to someone (Jack maybe) that it was him? I will have to try to find it.

I clearly need to rethink my further participation in this area of the forum. :sigh: :(

I'm sorry but those aren't spoilers- they are revealed to us. It's what they WANT us to see. Spoilers are information leaked and sometimes posted here. A spoiler would be if I said "Hey I found out in the next episod Bob dies". That's a spoiler. What I was talking about was a preview. And not to mention we frequently discuss the preview the next day.

The 6 are Sun, Aaron, Kate, Jack, Hurley and Sayid.

I'm not sure we should count Aaron. We don't know where Walt is, Michael is alive and might get to the mainland yet. I still think it might be him in the coffin in Los Angeles (or somewhere in Southern California that Jack was able to drive to).
