It totally explains why Kate didn't want the baby in the courtroom, though. I mean, what with Jack telling those HUGE lies on the witness stand (can anyone say "perjury"?) ... it might have made people start asking question about just how many people survived the crash. I wonder how they explained Claire's 'death'?

So what's up with his lie that he's supposedly told over and over again? It's huge one... landing in the water... only 8 survived--Oceanic 6, Michael, and Walt maybe? something tells me if M and W truly got back home they wouldn't have kept their mouths shut, and the story would really be out already. this makes me think they didn't get back at all...

I don't think they need to explain her death to anyone since they're all living a lie anyway it seems with the bunk story Jack's telling (that I assume they all agreed upon when they left)... Since people think it's Kate's baby, they wouldn't ask about the dead pregnant girl I guess....
And what about that psychic saying only Claire should care for her son? And if Kate's doing it in the flashforward... I wonder if that holds significance.

.... Jack doesn't know it, but Aaron is his nephew. He and Claire are half-siblings. Or, at least as far as we have seen so far, Jack doesn't know it.

So why would Kate *know* why Jack didn't want to see the baby? Does he not know that it is Aaron?? I mean, he's "met" Aaron already, so why would he have a problem seeing him now? Especially if at some point in the FFs, the relationship came out and he knows Aaron is his nephew.

My theories are either:

1) Jack thinks it is Kate and Sawyer's son
2) Jack knows it is Aaron but feels guilty over something that happened to Claire
3) Jack is cutting all ties with his blood relatives over something we will find out about his father's relationship to the island

Oh, and that scene between Kate and Sawyer??

okay i'm confused. i thought everyone "agreed" to keep the whole thing a secret. so then how is it that jack said all that on the stand? or is it that they just kept secret that everyone was still alive on the island? and why the heck doesn't jack want to see the baby? my first thought was that he thought it was kate and sawyer's too but....


which leads me to sawyer....daggone it all. he screwed up big time with kate. he was so sweet with the "i'll keep you safe" thing and then blew it all when she talked about not being pregnant. i do admit though, he deserved that slap from her however he nailed her ded on with the "in a week you'll get [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]ed at jack" thing.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY KATE!

all in all, this season i think has been the best so far!!!!!

oh, and how exactly is ben supposed to get 3.2 million dollars???????

I keep forgetting to remind myself that I'm watching flash-forwards.

When Kate mentioned her son at first, I thought that I'd been watching a flashback and that she had some kind of trial before crashing on the island.

Once I'd realized that it was a flash-forward, the thought of her having a son wasn't so surprising anymore. In fact, I think that all of us here collectively agreed that she was referring to a son when speaking to Jack in the Season 3 finale.

Now, as for that son being Aaron... yeah, that was a bit of a surprise. But you could see the breadcrumbs leading up to that as the episode progressed (with the way Kate looked at Aaron when she was working on the clothesline with Claire).

I'm very much intrigued by Jack's story about there only being 8 people who survived the crash. What is this new conspiracy that everyone is in on, post-island?

Yes, a very telling line, probably one of the most revealing points of the episode.

Aaron isn't THAT old but, surely Jack would know that Kate wasn't pregnant and didn't go through 9 months of pregnancy and now has a baby as big as Aaron. Maybe there was a standoff between Jack and Sawyer over Kate/who would help her raise Aaron and it leaves Jack with feelings of inadaquacy.

Well, now we know how it is Kate is free in Jack's Flash foward, and that she has Aaron.

Claire must have died, I can't think she willingly gave-up her baby.

Or maybe she's under great duress back on the island?

and Kate doesn't want to go back 'cause she has fallen in love with Aaron, she don't want to give him up.

hmmm, maybe she stole Aaron and that's why Jack can't look at her and him and why she was scared for him to testify.

The probation keeps her from going anywhere and away from the island

ok..here are some of my thoughts ....

First off is that Claire's Aaron? At first i assumed it was..then my mom said "Well what if Claire and the baby got killed on the ISland and Kate just named her baby after Aaron as a remberance..and that is why Jack doesnt want to come see the baby because of the horrible death of claire and aaron on the island?". Possible, i suppose. The producers want us to think its Claire's Aaron..but is it?

Ok..so IF it is Claire's Aaron...
Does Kate come off the Island pretending it is HER baby? Seeing that kate is a fugitive i can't see her coming back with Claire's baby and expecting the state to give HER custody.
WHY doesn't Jack want to see the baby??????

So..is Aaron #5 of the Oceanic 6? He has to be since the commercial said we would find out another Oceanic 6 right???

So who do we think #6 is? i don't know if it is Sawyer after seeing this episode..i am starting to lean toward it being Locke...and Locke also being the guy in the casket! (ya i know it appears right now Locke won't go back, but lots can change...including BEN telling Locke something that will make him go back)
