Absolute nonsense. Take that message to a remote, brutish tribe, and see how civilized they become....the 10 commandments were for the Jews coming out of Egypt not us.
My Church set up the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter specifically to welcome Anglicans who wish to be in communion with the Pope into the Catholic Church. These days I often feel more that it's the Catholic Church which rejects us, rather than the other way around.
None of us wants to join the Roman Catholic Church. My Church set up the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter specifically to welcome Anglicans who wish to be in communion with the Pope into the Catholic Church.
Meanwhile, the Anglicans in America ordain women as well as men who think they're women.
What more exactly is the Catholic Church supposed to do to accommodate the Anglicans?
Tell them to love God with all their hearts, and their neighbors as themselves, and see how that works for ya.wHAT?

it's not humiliating to turn to jesus, every one of us need to set aside mistakes, impureness, all kind of sins. You have been given some good comments already. No verse 5 needs to be there and the 10 commandments were for the Jews coming out of Egypt not us. Now it is good to try follow them but not a slave to them. As Christ said:
“Teacher,” he asked, “which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and the most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ The whole Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
Not at all. The Orthodox use icons and images as well as others, it's just misplace evangelicals that try to fight how images are bad
Ok, let's start over. You have been given some good comments already. No verse 5 needs to be there and the 10 commandments were for the Jews coming out of Egypt not us. Now it is good to try follow them but not a slave to them. As Christ said:

if i would adore idols or use images misrepresenting god i would just stop it and follow jesus' path. what shame is it in christ's body?
Ok, let's start over.
The two great commandments did not originate with Christ in the NT.
Luke 16
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
So, clearly, this law came from the OT.
Deuteronomy 6:5
And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Leviticus 19:34
You must treat the foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
So if, as you say, the ten commandments "were for the Jews coming out of Egypt not us,"
Who, exactly, is "us?"
Would it include the primitive people to whom we send missionaries, as well?
If so, then we needn't bother them with the ten commandments, even if theft, lying, fornication, and adultery are a part of their culture, correct?
But if they do need these ten holy precepts, are we then exempt from that which we would bring to bear upon them?
Why do we so desire to be excused from obedience?
Why?
I have no disagreement with you.You and I will disagree, thank you
I have no disagreement with you.
The scripures, however, speak for themselves.
You may disagree with them if you desire to do so.
I've been growing quite fond of you, you know.
it's in the second command, why do you deny something so clearNever said that. Actually one has to have humility to turn to Christ and let go of control. To adore is not worship and God does not hate images, I am sure you make sure you have no pictures of your loved ones if you think God hates images
Are you referring to Deuteronomy 5:6-9, by any chance?it's in the second command, why do you deny something so clear
Considering that entire parishes and waves of people took advantage of this becasue of what they saw going on within Anglicanism, I would say the Church did what She could, and many took advantage of Her offer. My Church set up the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter specifically to welcome Anglicans who wish to be in communion with the Pope into the Catholic Church.
What more exactly is the Catholic Church supposed to do to accommodate the Anglicans?
So you expect the Church to exhibit protestantism and change its teachings to fit who?......YOU?The Ordinariate isn't acceptance of Anglicans, it's a half-way house for people who don't really want to be Anglican any more.
And I'll feel accepted by Rome - as opposed to rejected - when they treat us as a valid church in our own right (or indeed rite) rather than as deficient and heretical. (That's not going to happen...? That's why I said the Catholic church rejects us).
So you expect the Church to exhibit protestantism and change its teachings to fit who?......YOU?
Then don't be upset you are considered a heretic by Her.I have no such expectations
Heresy has consequences, second class citizenship isn't one of them. But I am clear that the Catholic church's current stance rejects those in other churches and treats them as second-class Christians
