• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Is there anyone here who is taking this? Just the pure kind not after it is made into meth?

I'm unhappy that I abuse it. I started so I wouldn't get tired in the afternoon. It is hard for me to wake up when I take a nap. I work part time in the evenings. I probably wouldn't have even started if it wasn't for me working. I'm looking for support from anyone and looking for those who have the same problem. I'm really worried that God is mad at me for this. I know this is not like cocaine, pain killers, and others, but it is worrisome that I'm still taking these. Thanks!
PS. Temptation sucks

hi ceedaisy!!

i've heard of ephedrine but don't know anything about it.

i had so bottom line energy levels and i thought that i was the most lazy person in the world. a doctor prescribed me royal jelly in capsule form (it doesn't get polluted in capsules) and aloe vera juice. of course she suggested some appropriate diet as well.

and now i am just flying with energy!!!! my energy levels are so high that i want to do everything in this world!!!

it took the royal jelly and aloe juice a couple of weeks to take me high, but it was worth it. why don't u try something like that?
i am into whatever natural there is....

all the best!!
u can pm me if u want!

Hi, Cee! If you're getting tired in the afternoon, take a look at your diet--it may be a carb/sugar low that you are experiencing. Do you eat a regular lunch? Do you drink coffee in the AM which is wearing off by 3pm? (I do, then drink another cup in the afternoon). :) Also, can you take some time during lunch to rest?

I understand that you don't want to chemically control your energy levels nor be reliant on them to get thru your day. It's good that you have recognized a cycle; especially one that has a negative pull. Definately take a look at your morning routine. I think that as we (GASP!) "mature" our body's metabolism slows down so we need to adjust accordingly. Also, life's blessings can take their toll (children, work, relationships...), perhaps re-prioritizing how you expend your energy (& renew it) will put you on a healthier track.

I wish you the best! Mi

Hi again! A couple more things:

When you said
I probably wouldn't have even started if it wasn't for me working
...are you upset about working, the hours, the job itself? I'm wondering if you are not happy re: work and in the afternoon, when it's time to get ready to go, you begin to feel down?

Also, are you sleeping ok at night? Are you getting enough sleep each nite?

Keep us posted :) Mi

You guys are soooo sweet to talk to me! I really appreciate it. I have not heard of Royal Jelly. I think we have Jello by Royal! LOL, don't think you mean that. The doctor only gave you enough for two weeks? Wow. All the B vitamins give energy also. And they do help. So I should be using them.

Hi Crabby, no, I'm not happy with my work schedule. But we do this so someone can be home with Max all the time. We do not want to do daycare. I miss my guys a lot. I pretty much like my work, but it is tough, since I'm on my feet the whole time without sitting down. Yes, I was getting enough sleep. And yeah I would eat lunch.

Ephedrine is actually a natural thing, but too much is dangerous. They used to put it in diet pills, but the FDA banned it. But so far they can't ban it when it is used as an independant ingredient. It is used as a bronchalator also.

I would rep you two, if I rep changing power, but I don't yet! You are great!!

hi ceedaisy!

the royal jelly started working on me after around 2 weeks. i am taking it now for 2 whole months and i feel great! the doc said i should visit her after 2 months so i am probably going to see her next week.

i have also heard of l-theanine that can be used for relaxing, but i don't know anything else yet. maybe u could check with a health food store or something.

regarding B vitamins, i know that when the body is under stress it uses a lot of the B vitamins in stock, so that's why we need them during stressfull situations.

r u taking a multivitamin as well? i think it could help ur body get the really needed vitamins, minerals etc.

take care! i'll be around here, so u can pm me whenever u want!

all the best!

I posted this same topic in another forum. No one really took me serious but it is for me. I can relate to what you are saying because I have been taking it for 9 years now. I am in the Military so it really helps with getting up in the morning and having to run 7-9 miles then work a 12 hour day. I went from using it only when I went to the gym to using it three times a day for a long time now. The longest I have gone in a few years is when I was in Iraq! I even thought of bringing it up to some people here in the Military but I don't think that they will even take me serious. I am depressed and moody when I am not on it. I can barely stay awake off of it. They deal with people who have drinking problems, take Meth, cocaine,etc... I would look pretty foolish saying I do not smoke, drink, but exercise like an athlete and take Ephederine.

I do mix mine with a very popular stack (OTC) that I won't mention but all this does is enhance it and equal the basic ingredients of Ripped fuel, Exenedrine, etc...I found through bodybuilding magazines and competeing in powerlifting that I could make my own (ripped fuel) for much cheaper using the epedrine or ephedra as the main ingredient. This makes it even harder to quit because it makes Ephedra twice as potent! Thanks for the post, I see I am not the only one.

Thank you so much for stepping forward!! Others who have used harder stuff think that we don't have a problem. But the fact is, it COULD lead to harder substances. Having addicting personalities puts us in a vulnerable position. One that we have to watch over and protect ourselves from.
