• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him.
He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box.
Curious, and somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he rose his voice to his father and said "with all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, a sudden feeling of sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still gift-wrapped Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt.7:11, "And if ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in Heaven, give to those who ask Him?"

http://ephesians.wordpress.com/2008/02/20/paid-in-full/323/
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.
http://ephesians.wordpress.com/2008/02/20/paid-in-full/321/It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because we can't see past our own desires?

Funeral Plans Canceled When God Miraculously Heals Woman From Massive Brain Hemorrhage
Teresa Neumann (February 15, 2008)

"She kept saying the house was filled to capacity with souls that she didn't know, but they were all angels, and they were here to heal her."

Alan and Rae Kupferschmidt(Lake Elmo, Minn.)—On January 16th, a CT scan documented the fact that 65-year-old Raleane "Rae" Kupferschmidt had suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage. (Gazette photo by Andrew Wallmeyer)

"The doctor came out in less than 20 minutes and told us there's nothing they can do," said Rae's husband Alan. "There was no brain activity. She wouldn't come out of this.''

As requested in Rae's living will, her family subsequently had her life-support machines removed, said their good-byes, and began making funeral preparations. But God had other plans. As the hours passed into days and Rae continued in a coma, her family moved her home where she had hospice care. A short while later, Rae's daughter, Lisa Sturm, noticed that her mother was becoming more aggressive in sucking on the ice chips she was feeding her.

"Mom, Mom. Are you in there?" she asked. When Rae mouthed the word "yes" and nodded, Sturm said they were stunned.

"You're not going to be thirsty or hungry if you're brain-dead,'' Sturm said. "It was time to get the train turned around because hospice is a one-way track to the funeral home, and Rae's not ready to go."

The doctors were amazed and continue to be amazed at Rae's continued improvement.

According to a report in the Stillwater Gazette, Rae says Lisa asked her numerous times if she was seeing any angels she recognized. Rae replied, "They're not here to take me home; they don't want me. They're here to help me."

Says Lisa: "She kept saying the house was filled to capacity with souls that she didn't know, but they were all angels, and they were here to heal her."

Rae explains her survival so: "I've been the recipient of God's grace, and given a second chance in life. God is not done with me yet. I'm not finished with my purpose," she said. "I don't know what God's purpose is in continuing my life, but I know I will dedicate my life to His work, whatever that is."

"You start fighting. Don't you dare give up on me now. I've had enough, stop mucking around and start breathing. Come back to me."

(United Kingdom)—In July of last year, Yvonne Sullivan, already suffering from severe blood poisoning (septicemia), went into severe shock and then a coma following news that her new-born son had died shortly after she had given birth.

Two-weeks later, when doctors told her husband Dom that there was no hope and that they wanted to turn off his wife's life-support machine, Dom says he got angry. (Photo: Southwest News)

"You start fighting," he shouted at her. "Don't you dare give up on me now. I've had enough, stop mucking around and start breathing. Come back to me."

Says Dom: "I grabbed her hand and began shouting at her, 'start fighting, don't you dare give up on me,'" said Dom. "I gave her a…good rollicking. I'd already had to explain to my stepson Ryan that his brother Clinton had died, and that his mummy may not survive. He said he'd be cross with the doctors if they let Mummy go to Heaven. I kept telling her to pull through. Then I left the room to get some air. I came back two hours later and she had started to breathe. It was incredible."

For her part, Yvonne is quoted as saying her husband's impassioned "stern" words penetrated her coma. "I can't remember exactly what he said but I never liked getting told off by Dom. Something inside me just clicked and I began to fight again...It's a miracle really."

A report in The Daily Mail says Yvonne has made a full recovery and is back to teaching dance and taking care of her son. "I am fine now," she insists. "Doctors say it must be a miracle and cannot believe I am walking.

HEAVEN’S GLORY
Dear friend, I want to tell you a story,
Of a wonderful vision of Heaven’s glory,
And I looked and saw one with eyes on fire,
For seated on the throne was the one I desire.

He is the Alpha and Omega and the Ancient of Days,
And like the Apostle John I fall at His feet at one gaze,
Looking up I saw the wonderful beauty of His countenance,
His glory shining brightly like the sun’s radiance.

All around His throne the angels gather and sing,
And the twenty – four elders were gathered around,
"Worthy, worthy, O Lord, glory, honour and power” proclaiming,
From the throne lightnings, thunderings, and voices resound.

And all the angels with the saints throughout the ages will gather,
Singing praises in unity from every tribe and every nation together,
"Worthy ; Worthy; Worthy; Blessing and honour and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

When the rewards are handed out at the Bema Seat,
I stand there wishing I had given Him more,
For He had a purpose for me to fulfil I know,
And I realize that much of my life was lived in defeat.

The word said I would overcome by the blood of the Lamb,
And out of life’s trials He would bring peace and calm,
Yet I failed to move fully into all that He had for me,
Fear of man and the situation at hand was all I could see.

But He beckons to me saying “ I am well pleased”
And He rewards me with crowns and I am so blessed,
For He saw my heart and knew that He was my greatest treasure,
And He poured out His love on me without measure.

And my Saviour has prepared a beautiful mansion for me,
I am clothed in robes of righteousness as part of His bride you see,
For all of my sins are washed away forever from me,
And the wonder of His Glory and Majesty eternally I will see.

And then I’m dancing in the streets that are golden,
The wondrous glory of the Lord I am beholding,
Forever and forever His praises I will sing,
As I can now dance eternally with the King of Kings.

Pray Bible verses

The Bible makes an excellent prayer guide. Many verses can be turned into prayers. Here are some examples:

Col 3:1-4 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. 5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
Father, I thank you that I have been raised up with Christ. Direct my eyes to the things above, where Christ is, seated at your right hand, instead of the things that are on earth. I thank you that my old self is dead and my life is hidden with Christ in You. I thank you that Christ is now my life. I thank you that the members of my earthly body are dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry; I renounce all such behavior and desires.

Eph 6:12-18 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints
Father, I choose to take up the full armor that you have entrusted to me as Your child in Christ, so that I will be able to resist in the evil day, standing firm against all evil--against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. I gird my loins with truth, and put on the breastplate of righteousness--Christ's righteousness. I shod my fee with the preparation of the gospel of peace--Christ's peace. And I take up the shield of faith, trusting Christ in me for faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And I take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, Your word. Please keep me in prayer and petition at all times in the Spirit, alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. Thank you.

Prov 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Father, I want You to direct my paths. I choose to trust you with my heart, leaning not on my own understanding, acknowledging You in all my ways. I trust Christ for the ability, faith, and will to trust. I believe that you will direct my paths, because You are always faithful to Your word.

Prov 16:3,9 Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established. 9 The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
Father, I commit this matter to You, and thank You that You will establish my plans. Thank you also for directing my steps. No matter what I plan with my mind, I want You to establish my plans according to Your will, and to direct my steps, even down to the millimeter and millisecond. Thank you.

Pray what the Apostle Paul prayed
Below are actual prayers that the Apostle Paul prayed for the Christians with whom he was corresponding, as well as prayers that he requested of them. Paul's prayers make excellent prayers for yourself and others:
Eph 1:17-19 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
Pray Paul's prayers for yourself and others. Here's an example with Eph 1:17-19:
Eph 1:17-19 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened, so that we will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
Eph 3:16-19 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Col 1:9-12 that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
Col 2:2,3 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Phil 1:9-11 that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
2 Th 1:11,12 that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Col 4:3 that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;
2 Th 3:1,2 that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2 and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith.
Pray what Jesus prayed
Chapter 17 of the Gospel of John records a prayer that Jesus prayed to the Father right after the Last Supper with His disciples and just before the Roman officials arrested Him. Much of Jesus' prayer was for the disciples who were with Him at the time as well as for those, including you, if applicable, who would come to believe in Him.
Agree with Jesus' prayer for you. Tell God that you want what Jesus was asking for. Even though you may not fully understand what Jesus was asking, you know that He would only have asked for what is best, so agree with His prayer.
Here is Jesus' prayer in its entirety, followed by suggested prayers for yourself and others:
John 17: 1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. 6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 "Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. 9 "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; 10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. 11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. 12 "While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. 13 "But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. 14 "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. 16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. 20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

Pray Jesus' prayer for others as well as yourself:
John 17:11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.
Father, please keep us in Your name, that we may be one even as You are with the Son.
John 17:13 "But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.
Father, I ask that Jesus' joy be made full in us.
John 17:15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
Father, I do not ask You to take us out of the world, but to keep us from the evil one.
John 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Father, sanctify us in Your word, the truth.
John 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
Father, I ask that we may be one; even as You, Father, were in Jesus when He was on earth, and He in You, that we also may be in You and the Lord Jesus, so that the world may believe that You sent the Son. We want to receive the glory of the Spirit of the Life of Christ Jesus, that we may be one, just as You are one with the Lord Jesus; Christ in us and You in Christ, that we may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent the Son, and loved us, even as You have loved Jesus.

Thanks, I want to add this verse as well. Actually, I see some people add sayings under their username, you wouldn't know how to do that would you?

I love all your posts as well. I hope this thread stays up for a LONG time. God bless

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

I also like the qoute, "The failure of others to recognize the facts, does not change the truth."

EDITOR'S NOTE: One of the "callings" that we feel the Lord has given us here at BCN, is to report on the good and often miraculous things God is doing on Earth in our time. In pursuing this, we've uncovered some wonderfully encouraging reports from all over the world, some even about resurrections. It's always amazing to read a testimony about someone being raised from the dead in another—often third world—country, but when it happens in your own nation, it's especially exciting. Such is the case this time, with the story that follows, and my thanks to Pastor Kenneth Lieberman for alerting me to it. As incredible and newsworthy as the report seems, it has unfortunately received little press coverage. I'm hoping our subscribers will not only read this remarkable account, but pass it on to many others—to the glory of God. Nothing is impossible with Him! -Aimee Herd, BCN.

(Florida, USA)—Just a story about Dr. Chauncey Crandall would be interesting enough on its own; a Christian doctor who practices medicine in Palm Beach, Florida, and prays with his patients.

"The reason I pray for people is because I found, early in my trained practice, that there were miracles, unexplained healings," explains Dr. Crandall.

But when a man named Jeff Markin walked into the Palm Beach Gardens Hospital Emergency Room, and promptly collapsed on the floor due to a massive heart attack, the most astounding miracle was about to be witnessed.

According to the WSVN 7-News report, Markin could not be revived even after many efforts by hospital staff. By the time his heart had been stopped for nearly an hour, the call went out for Dr. Crandall.

"As I entered the ER it was like a war zone," recounted Crandall. "Here was this lifeless body on a stretcher. His face, his arms, his legs were pitch black with death. I said, 'Let's just call the code, let's end it because there's no life left.'"

But just as Dr. Crandall was walking out of the room, he heard from God.

"A voice told me to turn around and pray for that man. I looked down at the body, and I said, 'Lord, what can I pray for this man? He's gone.' All of a sudden these words came out, 'Father, I cry out for this man's soul, if he does not know You, raise him from the dead,'" the doctor said.

Although the hospital staff was already preparing Markin's body for the morgue, Dr. Crandall asked for him to be shocked one more time. When they finally did, Markin's heart began to beat perfectly, and he started breathing on his own.

Jeff Markin wasn't a Believer before the day he was resurrected, but is now attending church.

Actor in BBC Holy Week Production, The Passion, Shares His Faith, Experiences from Filming Crucifixion

by Teresa Neumann : Mar 6, 2008 : Staff - Inspire Magazine

"So many people have a prefabricated idea of what the church is in Britain. People see those great big buildings and think that is what Christianity is...But that is nothing to do with the essence of Christianity. The story we depict in this drama is all about that essence. It's about a personal relationship with God."
(United Kingdom)—BBC Drama's production of The Passion will be screened on BBC1 during Holy Week starting Sunday, March 16. David Oyelowo, who plays the role of Joseph of Arimathea, admitted to Inspire Magazine that his deeply-held faith made him wary at first of accepting the role, mainly because he was concerned that it might present a "sanitized or safe version of the story."

"Of all the projects I've ever done it was the one I had to think hardest about as a Christian," he said. "When I heard it was the BBC and HBO I wondered—is it going to be the PC, watered down, keep everyone happy version or are we going to genuinely tell the story as in the Bible which is more interesting to me?" (Photo: Inspire Magazine)

When Oyelowo read the script, however, his fears vanished. "I read the script with a slightly sceptical eye and to my delight I recognised it as the story and events that have shaped my life for the last 15 years. I was also elated that the BBC has … put on what may be deemed a controversial drama like this. For me it is one of if not the greatest stories of all time."

The crucifixion scenes, he noted, were the most emotionally exhausting. "There was one day when we were filming the crucifixion. My character has asked Pilate if he can take Jesus's body down and goes to Golgotha to collect it. They had been filming there all day and I walked up towards where the crucifixions were taking place. I broke down and wept. I couldn't keep it together."

It is Oyelowo's hope that the production will open conversation about Christianity in the U.K. "So many people have a prefabricated idea of what the church is in Britain. People see those great big buildings and think that is what Christianity is, St Paul's, all the bells and smells and regalia. But that is nothing to do with the essence of Christianity. The story we depict in this drama is all about that essence. It's about a personal relationship with God."

Girl Comes Out of Coma, Able to Recall Memories, Despite Doctors Saying She Would Never Revive

by Teresa Neumann : Mar 7, 2008 : Scott Michels - ABC News

Said doctor: "Short of developing a technique for a complete brain transplant, there is no hope that medical treatment will be discovered in the foreseeable future which could reverse" her condition.

The victim of unspeakable cruelty, 14-year-old Haleigh Poutre of Massachusetts is a living miracle today after coming out of a two-year coma—induced by a brutal beating—by which she was never expected to revive. (AP Photo/Family Handout)

According to an ABC report, Haleigh was once thought to be so irreversibly brain damaged that doctors planned to remove her from life support. She began breathing on her own and showing other signs of brain activity in January 2006, just days before doctors planned to remove her ventilator.

Now, she is reportedly able to communicate and recall her alleged attack.

"It's nothing short of phenomenal to have someone who is essentially given up for dead survive this and come out of a coma and be able to articulate what happened to her," said Tim Burke, a former prosecutor and longtime criminal defense lawyer in Boston.

At a court hearing, the report notes that doctors from Baystate Medical Center testified that Haleigh had suffered irreversible brain damage. "Short of developing a technique for a complete brain transplant, there is no hope that medical treatment will be discovered in the foreseeable future which could reverse" her condition, said one doctor, according to court records.
