CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
This isn't about judging anyones heart for the Christians who are here I have talked with and it isn't about judgment but rather approving of Pagan music. Secular rap and secular metal focus on nothing but moral corruption, violence, filthy language, self ambiton and self-centeredness.
Thus so many Christians approve of the music of those who deny Christ and live for themselves in that the sinful nature is our master. The whole point of music is to praise him by giving him thanks for what he does in our life everyday and that he has freed us from the law of sin and death.
1 Peter 9-10
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you our of the darnkess into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not recieved mercy, but now you have recieved mercy.
Thus we have all been called out of the darkness and into the presence of his light but still some feel the need to listen music about the darkness in this world.
Psalm 37:7
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry ot their wicked schemes.
Thus some continue to listen to music that sings about all the things of the sinful nature that we have been freed from. The wicked schemes of men and their selfish desires for all the pleasures of this world which is bound in time.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Anyone who is in Christ is a new creature, the old things have passed away the new has come.
How can we focus on the new when we continue to focus on the old through the music of Pagans that reject our Savior?
2 Corinthians 11:19-20
You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise. In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or pushes himself forward or slaps you in the face.
Why would a Christian want to listen to the music of the Pagans who in essence slap you in the face because they aren't willing to admit they are sinners and haven't been welcome into the kingdom yet?
But some Christians are willing to associate with them at concerts where everyone is cursing, doing drugs, and every form of moral corruption and Christians just sit there and go along with it, conforming to the patterns of this world and the Pagans wicked ways.

Eminem annoys me so much. There is a TON of rap and hip-hop that is so much better, and most people haven't even heard it because they're too busy listen to mainstream you-know-what, like Chingy, Eminem and Usher. Ugh.

We can hate the lyrical content but we still have to love him as a person because Christ died for him as well as you and me. Don't call him stupid though just because he is decieved because of the greed of money and the praise of men and all the fame especially since he came from nothing.
He has alot of emotional scars and he takes it out in his music for a release but the problem is he makes fun of others and pushes his hurt on others.

The word stupid isn't as bad as other words but to call him stupid offends others and alot will say that I offend them with these posts but the point is others get convicted and retaliate with anger. I am by no means perfect either but why would someone who was freed from the law of sin and death because of their old participation in these things continue to dwell on them.
