The Bible teaches that God had no beginning. If the universe began as a result of a huge explosion 15 billion years ago, then I have to conclude that God existed since eternity past until the Big Bang doing nothing. Instead of a Big event 15 billion years ago, I choose to believe that there were probably millions of Small Bangs going back countless of billions of years ago.
Remember that the theory of the BB is based on the expansion of the universe, and the calculated age of the universe is dependent of our estimate of the number of stars and galaxies in our universe, but every time we design a bigger telescope, our universe gets larger and larger.
We currently estimate the universe to contain 100 galaxies. This number will probably increase the day we build a more powerful telescope. Since we do not know the limits of our universe, this suggests that our calculations might be off by a huge magnitude. Besides, many scientists are beginning to question the theory of the BB.
The Bible says “In the beginning God,” while science claims “In the beginning the BB.” This leads me to believe that my theory of beginnings is more in harmony with what the Bible teaches.
