Yes, the Big Bang was invented by scientists who have a commitment to explaining origins without the help of Divine revelation. The Big Bang is not science but rather science fiction. The Bible says: “In the beginning God … ”; while scientists affirm: “In the beginning the Big Bang.
The universe is probably much older than 14.7 billion years, while our planet is much younger, and life on planet earth is perhaps measured in double digit thousands of years.
What if he were a Baptist?WOW!!!!!!
I didn't know that!
Stand aside, Genesis 1!
A JESUIT PRIEST!!!!!! is here to set the record straight!

Yes, the only thing I would change is to replace the term “invented” with the word “embraced.”
Yes!Despite all evidence to the contrary.
I am not ignoring but rather dismissing the argument. Darwin was also a religious man, and he led the entire world on the wrong theory of origins. Then you are ignoring the fact that the first person to embrace the Big Bang theory was a Jesuit priest?
Just curious. What conflict is there with the big bang theory with the bible?I am not ignoring but rather dismissing the argument. Darwin was also a religious man, and he led the entire world on the wrong theory of origins.
Well, if the big bang theory actually did claim something from nothing I would agree with you, but it doesn't, rather from a singularity.Problems with the Big Bang Theory
· It violates the first law of thermodynamics, which says you can't create or destroy matter or energy. Critics claim that the big bang theory suggests the universe began out of nothing. …

“The Big Bang theory suggests that the universe was created from an a single point in the universe but despite years of research, nobody yet knows what triggered the eruption.
It also fails to explain why the Universe has an “almost completely uniform temperature.”

The Bible teaches that God had no beginning. If the universe began as a result of a huge explosion 15 billion years ago, then I have to conclude that God existed since eternity past until the Big Bang doing nothing. Instead of a Big event 15 billion years ago, I choose to believe that there were probably millions of Small Bangs going back countless of billions of years ago.
Remember that the theory of the BB is based on the expansion of the universe, and the calculated age of the universe is dependent of our estimate of the number of stars and galaxies in our universe, but every time we design a bigger telescope, our universe gets larger and larger.
We currently estimate the universe to contain 100 galaxies. This number will probably increase the day we build a more powerful telescope. Since we do not know the limits of our universe, this suggests that our calculations might be off by a huge magnitude. Besides, many scientists are beginning to question the theory of the BB.
The Bible says “In the beginning God,” while science claims “In the beginning the BB.” This leads me to believe that my theory of beginnings is more in harmony with what the Bible teaches.

100 billion galaxies, actually.

That's what scientists do -- everything they can to poke holes in an existing theory in order to see if it stands up to the pressure.

So it's your theory, and not the Bible's theory?

So far as I understand it, some versions of the big bang theory do claim something from nothing. Lawrence Krauss wrote a book with the title 'A universe from nothing'. Also, the total energy of the universe is probably zero, so in one sense we still have nothing.Well, if the big bang theory actually did claim something from nothing I would agree with you, but it doesn't, rather from a singularity.
I didn't know there were different versions of the BBT. I believe what your are referencing are completely different theories, or more correctly stated, "theoretical physics", which are based on math and physics rather than measurable observations as the BBT is.So far as I understand it, some versions of the big bang theory do claim something from nothing. The size of the universe. It seems to be almost infinite in size. Every time we build a new telescope, the universe gets bigger and bigger. By the time we find the limits of the universe, you will probably agree with me on this.Interesting idea -- on what basis do you choose to believe this?
I am not misinformed. The evidence is in the title of the video I posted. The word billion got accidentally deleted while editing. You are woefully misinformed. The current estimate is 100 billion galaxies based on the Hubble Ultra Deep Field survey.
