Indeed it has been explained. What is an idol?

Your OP has been shown for what it is. You are taking EGW quotes out of context and applying interpretations to them that they are not saying. This is what you have been doing in nearly all of your posts in this forum. This is sad for you.

Do you have any scripture to share?
I just read quite a few posts in this thread. EGW is not taken out of context because her complete statements are posted. You're trying to discredit Tall73 for posting from the writings of EGW about photos. Most CF veteran know and respect what Tall73 has to say about SDA. You're asking for scriptures but his thread is about the counsel of a so-called prophet.
Do you have scriptures to share? Tall73 has presented more clarity on scriptures and posts about SDA beliefs, the law, the sanctuary, IJ than anyone here.
Don't expect him to become unglued or shaken.

The following is a statement by Ellen White from the Review and Herald, September 10, 1901. It discusses photograph idols.

“No Other Gods Before Me”

... My attention was called to the money which they have invested in photographs.

from https://www.quora.com/Photography-i...love-it-but-I-cant-afford-it-What-should-I-do
Photography is an expensive hobby and I love it, but I can't afford it. What should I do?

==================================
hint: this thread is on Sabbath and the LAW.

Is it your "Sabbath and the LAW" argument that we should ignore the Law of God whenever it speaks about idolatry??

- or is it your "Sabbath and the Law" argument that some folks admit to a connection between expensive hobbies and idolatry -- and photography can be an expensive hobby... while others do not admit to it -- and so "lets debate them"???

Or would you simply like to derail the entire "Sabbath and the LAW" forum?... again?
