Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) once referenced North Korea to slam the conditions and lifespan of residents in Baltimore’s “poorest boroughs,” calling it a “disgrace.”
This comes in the wake of far-left politicians slamming President Trump over criticisms of House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), who represents Baltimore’s district.

In 2016, Sanders slammed the conditions in Baltimore’s “poorest boroughs,” claiming that residents have “lifespans shorter than people living under dictatorship in North Korea.”
. . .

What is good for the goose........

The lack of criticism about Bernie's comments is deafening......

That is a misrepresentation. Sanders was stating statistics to the audience for the sake of calling for change. He ended with these words..

"We are talking about the United States of America in the year 2016 -- a country in which the top one tenth of one percent now owns almost as much wealth as the bottom ninety percent.

In this country we going to make profound economic changes. The people on top will not continue to accumulate billions of dollars in personal wealth while children in Baltimore and inner cities in this country go hungry, and have inadequate healthcare and education."

Cummings is the one originally accusing Trump of being a racist simply because Trump said something against him and the job he's doing.

Cummings did say Trump is a racist. But it was when he was asked in an interview.. and it was in regards to the 4 'squad' congresswomen. I don't believe he said this in response to the president's comments regarding his own job.

Just as you are ignoring (putting it mildly) his efforts to legally collect debts that are owed. BTW, did the article happen to quote evidence of these code violations from whatever office oversees these types of complaints?....That information is available to the public. It seems that the writer of the article would have used that avenue to bolster his position.

What does collecting debts have to do with maintaining rodent free apartment complexes? I have no doubt that Kushner is very good at collecting debts (probably worthy of another thread). I am more interested in how he contributes to the rat infested areas his father-n-law has criticized.

He could have done it for any number of reasons, but the fact is that he and the President referred to the same sorry conditions.

The President referred to it out of anger for Cummings. He had no care for the people who lived there... other than to say it was so rat infested that no human being would want to live there. He had no intent to offer a solution. His description was only meant to 'bite' at Cummings. Sanders referred to it out of compassion for the people. There is a BIG difference in motive.

That is your opinion. That's all it is. And it comes with no substantiation. Also, we can assume that it is one that predates the President's exchange with Cummings, in which case it doesn't add much of anything to this discussion.

But still no evidence from whatever city office that handles these tenant/landlord complaints that he is accused of being associated with?.....just opinion and anecdotes? As I said, this info in publicly available.

People.. please remember this is a Christian forum. The truth should matter.
Yes, it does matter and it should be supported by evidence and not simple accusations......Not bearing false witness should be something foremost in forums such as this......

You sure about that? When was the last time he complained about infestations in appalachia or the rust belt?

Here he is complaining about New Hampshire being a drug infested den.

Trump's 'Drug-Infested Den' Remark In Transcript Angers New Hampshire

We have a massive drug problem where kids are becoming addicted to drugs because the drugs are being sold for less money than candy. I won New Hampshire because New Hampshire is a drug-infested den," Trump reportedly said.

He throws cheap shots, and insults. And he uses harsh language. However, he does it to everyone and every place, as it suits him.

New Hampshire is 93.2 percent white.

U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts: New Hampshire

(Edit, put the wrong state's stats at first!)

Rat Film (2016) - IMDb
"Across walls, fences, and alleys, rats not only expose our boundaries of separation but make homes in them. "Rat Film" is a feature-length documentary that uses the rat--as well as the humans that love them, live with them, and kill them--to explore the history of Baltimore. "There's never been a rat problem in Baltimore, it's always been a people problem".

That's just like saying that if he didn't do something similar in a different situation, then what he did in this one must be wrong.

He has a long history of disparaging and demeaning non-white people. We already know what he thinks of Haiti, El Salvador, and all of Africa. I can't quote him because of the profanity he used.

People often try to make Trump appear as racist by claiming that he said something about a person of color or a location where they live, but not something similar about a white person or location. However, if you look at who Trump has said things against, you'll notice that he's said things against far more white people. Here are all the examples: The 598 People, Places and Things Donald Trump Has Insulted on Twitter: A Complete List

No offense but you can't use his lack of criticisms of certain places that are predominantly white as justification for saying that his criticism of Baltimore is racist just because Baltimore is more racially diverse. That is rashly judging President Trump. Please, either provide evidence to back up your assertion that this is a racist criticism or quit playing the race card.

Post 73 already showed evidence that he did use the same term for a white area, and iluvatar5150 liked the post. So I think it is fair to say that Trump is an equal opportunity critic.
