Now that the weather has gotten colder, and the air is dry, I find myself getting little shocks when I pet my cat. Sometimes he'll just come over to lick my hand and... zap! Or I'll be petting him, and happen to touch skin through the fur... only to get zapped again.
Understandably, he doesn't like the static electricity. Strangely, it doesn't seem to matter if I'm wearing shoes or not. It's as though his paws are generating the charge by rubbing on the carpet. That said, I could be mistaken.
Do any of you have similar problems with your pets? And if so, do you have any suggestions for turning down the voltage?
Thanks in advance!
