  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Republicans in Pennsylvania should try something different next time. Like nominating a good conservative candidate.
It most likely would not have mattered anyway. As I previously stated, f John Fetterman can win a senate seat, then anyone can! I am absolutely appalled right now! I believe that we were at a critical cross road going into this election and now I lost all hope for America after seeing the overall results of the election. It absolutely blows my mind to see just how far America has fallen. :(

As I expected, things aren't working out to my expectations so far.

<_<

>_>

That is to say, it's normal for the pendulum to swing back the other way, with the losing side in the presidential election coming back strong in the mid-terms. With the economy the way it is, Republicans should be winning big now. They could still come up with congressional control, but not by much.

Yes, I'm blaming Trump for this. His influence has messed up the Republican Party badly.

Thank you for your opinion! Thankfully, many of us don't believe this way. I was upset at the win by the Republicans here in Florida, but glad my home state of Pennsylvania voted for the Democrats! Makes me proud to be a Pennsylvanian!

Yes, I still consider myself a Pennsylvanian even though I live in Florida. Every time I drive north to PA or NY and I cross the Mason Dixon I am infinitely happier. My fiance watched me the first time I did it, she said it was like all your stresses and worries just vanished.

Thankfully, making that drive over Thanksgiving to visit family in Upstate, NY.

Anyone except a Trump / GOP candidate, apparently.
So everything gets blamed on Trump? Doesn't matter if America crashes and burns as long as Trump / GOP candidates don't win? I really thought that people in America were smarter than this, but apparently I was mistaken.

If you're just going to ignore the reasons things are messed up because of Trump, then you're going to be permanently bewildered by the results.

You missed a couple of Dem talking points, they may not be true but they just keep repeating them until some people accept them as facts without bothering to educated themselves
So what are the GOPs policies to resolve the problems facing America?

Trump has cost the Republicans many seats in Congress (Senate and House). Given Biden's numbers, the Republicans should have had a 2010-like victory.

Thank you to Trump for your hand-picked candidates in PA.
The goose that keeps laying golden eggs. . . . for Democrats.

What's wrong with the economy? Unemployment is down, corporate profits are up, GDP is up.

Yes, I'm blaming Trump for this. His influence has messed up the Republican Party badly.

Or you could say he allowed the Republican's party to unlock its true potential.

It's going down a lot further in the next couple of years. And those who delight in evil will rejoice over it.

But do they have the courage to reject him for the nomination? Deep down, the GOP can't seem to stand Trump, but he has enough public support that they rarely criticize him on camera.

I think DeSantis is going to change all that since Trump disparaged him.
