CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ron DeSantis (R) takes Florida. He also takes Dade county, which has not bee taken by a Republican governor in 20 years.

However "early voting" numbers are usually in by election day and democrats tend to do better in early voting than in their election-day voting. So Republican numbers on election day will tend to reduce if not wipe out early-voting democratic candidate leads

Glad to see Herschel Walker taking the lead in the Georgia Senate race. He undoubtedly will need a lot of help... but that is what aids are for.

Some of us make sacrifices. Sometimes we need to take a step backwards to move two steps forward.
In hindsight I should have made this move before I got so heavily invested in my home state.

Trump has cost the Republicans many seats in Congress (Senate and House).
Given Biden's numbers, the Republicans should have had a 2010-like victory.
The Republicans may still pull out a small majority in the Senate and in the House. DiSantis could probably easily defeat the Dems in 2024. With a Trump slate, Trump could lose the presidency, the Senate and the House.
