LOL.. LLoJ .. we actually agree... at where it all must start.. with Him...

Sorry, there has to be a 'but' to all this. The 'but' is that one has to be brutally honest with one's self about what G_d is saying to us, both directly and through what other people may say (test every spirit). If we are not we can 'claim' we are hearing him when in fact it may not be him at all. Hasatan knows the scriptures far better than ever we will and he is not averse to getting us to hear him, instead of G_d.

Be warned!

I agree. I've thought for a while now that Evangelicals leaders should put MJism in the heresy folder and turn against it like they did the JWs, but for some reason it receives their support despite the fact that there are so many splinter groups that appear and deny basic Christian doctrines underscored in the NT that define someone as a Christian. How can these doctrines be denied, yet these groups continue to receive support?

Groups that deny essential Christian doctrine would not receive support from Evangelicals, as far as I know. I think Christians are very friendly and supportive of Messianic groups that teach the essentials of the Christian faith, which as far as I know are many in number (but this number is not represented well here on this forum, which tends to have more unorthodox and/or unattached types and also seekers)

Many evangelical groups support MJism - it is probably the largest definable group that does. The problem comes about with Messianics who reject the Trinity - that is an immediate no no for evangelicals! Having said that there are a number of 'closed' evangelicals who would sit on the side of the fence where it says Paul dispensed with the law etc etc and try to convince you that grace is all that is needed - until they hear differently and the penny drops, so to speak.

When speaking with evangelicals I usually comment on the fact that they believe Scripture must be taken seriously - that G_d's word must be paramount in our discussion. So we look at the evidence in the Bible alone on the basis that we are all bound to what Scripture actually says. Many are able to see that they have been taught wrong for a long time and show a real thirst for the Messianic view on many issues where it can be shown them in the Bible. Most do not know the ET very well at all and often quote the LT out of context in relation to its cultural and societal settings. To gently put it all back into context for them to see is a distinct advantage.

The Gentiles I know in Messianic Fellowships are, primarily, evangelicals who have left the church because of the teaching or lifestyle promoted by that denomination / fellowship or because Messianics are more reliant on the truth of the Word. This is not to say it is easy to convince them, or that they will swallow everything, but they are the easier group to work with. Those on the fundamentalist side of the spectrum are not quite so easy to convince, I believe.

The bigger problem in this area is with liberals because they are open to believe what they will.

If I remember correctly, wasn't GeratTzedek an MJ before she converted to Orthodox Judaism?
