Earth is geocentric (perhaps even flat)

A lot of creationists seem to disregard 1 Timothy 6:20:
O Timothie, keepe that which is committed to thy trust, auoyding prophane and vaine bablings, and oppositions of science, fasly so called:

and believe in heliocentrism.

Let's examine from a scriptual view:

Psalms 104:5:
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
This verse is very important for proving the flat earth theory. God laid the foundations on something? What did he lay the foundations on? Genesis 1:2 and Genesis 1:6 gives us that answer:

Genesis 1:2:
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
This means the earth was created on the deep waters but it did not have a form or shape.

Genesis 1:6: And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
The firmament was the "earth" and it finally took "shape" and was no longer void. It separated the waters from below the "earth" and above the "earth".

Genesis 1:9: And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Notice God said "dry land" instead of just "land". The land was already created, the dry portion of it "appeared".

Psalms 93:1: The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
This proves the earth does not spin or orbit any planet/star. This is proof for geocentrism.

Psalms 104:5:
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Isaiah 40:22:
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
A circle is a circle and a sphere is a sphere. A circle can have four corners...but a sphere cannot!

how so -??

20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—

in Christ,

I posted a video of a team of amateurs building a rocket and filming the earth where the curvature can be clearly seen. This means you can potentially build it yourself and see for yourself. I won't waste any more time on this until you tell me your position on this.

I guess you never heard of a fisheye lens. All the "ballons" end up spinning rapidly (go see for yourself)......can't imagine what that would do to any asstronots on re-entry. I guess both are hoaxes...one to give credibility to the other.

Heavy stuff.

Here is a weather ballon sent to the atompshere by the brainwashing institute UMASS:
UMass Amherst Physics Weather Balloon - YouTube

Start watching at 6:00. Tell me how the asstronots would handle those type of g-forces on re-entry? (I say the whole thing is fake)

Bwuuh?

What g-forces? All I see in that video is some tumbling from an non-aerodynamically optimised object.

G-force is a measure of gravitational acceleration. That's why the device that measures it is an accelerometer.

The main problem with g-forces on atmospheric re-entry is rate of deceleration. That's not an issue if the re-entry angle is correct and you've got even a basic notion of aerodynamics for your re-entry vehicle.

Typical re-entry g-forces are between 3 and 5 g. Earlier re-entry paths had profiles at about 6g.

While that's not pleasant - I've back-seated in a couple of aerobatics displays and I start to grey out at about 6 to 7 g and in negative g I start to red-out earlier - its hardly a major problem. If we started seeing sustained deceleration of more than 10-12 g, or spikes above about 30-35 g, then you've got bigger problems. Such as passed out astronauts with minor internal organ damage.

That particular mistranslation has been extensively discussed elsewhere. A correct translation would be: O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge” (ESV).

So now the test for Christianity is to accept ancient Near East cosmology, including a flat earth? Such wooden literalism keeps many people from considering Christianity. When I posted my comment on the thread that alleges that the International Space Station is a hoax, I mentioned some some pretty simple things that show the earth is round and manned spacecraft can indeed orbit around it. When I was a 10 year old child, reading books on astronomy and geology, it never occurred to me that years later I and others would have to argue that the earth is a sphere, as if that is a controversial idea.
