Please, I'd love it if the Christians here could stop fussing over atheists. Just leave them be. Atheists have not chosen to make Christ part of their life. And most of them could probably care less about religion. Not because they're against it, but simply because they have other things to do. Or maybe even God hasn't found them yet.
Each person has the right to believe in whatever they like. So Christians, don't be mean to atheists. Some things I've read here have been horribly prejudiced and unfair. I really don't know any atheists\agnostics who make the level of fuss out of Christians that I have seen Christians make of atheists\agnostics on this forum.

Sorry if I upset anyone. I just think people should leave each to their own :sorry::)

I agree.

No matter what faith anyone follows, they are outnumbered by those who don't share that belief. Two thirds of the world is non-Christian.

As an atheist, it doesn't bother me that atheists are outnumbered by Christians. But many Christians seem more obsessed with we relatively small minority than with the rest of the non-Christian majority.

I am perfectly content for everyone to follow whatever beliefs they want to. As long as their faith doesn't require them to bully or pressurise those who believe something else.

Atheists frequently present challenges in a mocking or sarcastic tone. That Christians push back is understandable. These are often not genuine questions but challenges to our beliefs, asking us to justify some teaching or scripture that they don't like or agree with.

Greenling-

The quantity is irrelevant because:

Mt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Plus, me or any christian I know do not force our views down peoples throats. But if they ask they will get an answer. Thus, I don't know what christians your talking about.

If atheists want to be left alone, why are they posting on christianforums?. Could the name be any more specific?

Discourtesy is hardly unique to Exploring Christianity; and is hardly limited to Christian comments about atheists. It is all too common in our intramural disputes and, as has been noted here already, far from unknown in atheist comments about Christians and Christianity. Inappropriate? Yes; but we on these forums are human, not angels.

Yes, cause I go chasing the internetz after the atheists- except that I don't. I don't know what posts you're referring to exactly, but really, if I had to take a wild guess, it's more a situation where the atheists are coming to CF- you know as guests on a Christian forum. It's rather silly of a non-Christian to come to a religiously oriented forum and not expect some folks to attempt to convert them.

The atheists and agnostics who don't care aren't here. Really, they're not. I don't think they're a harassed lot.

Honestly, it would be entirely comparable to my going to JREF or IIDB and having the gall to wonder why people were blaspheming my religion and attempting to get me to de-convert, all the while whinging, 'why can't they just leave me be and stop fussing over me'? LOL, seriously?

I believe God can forgive them of their trasgressions and they will cease to feel the burden of their sins (acts and words that have hurt others in the past that burdens their consceince). They maybe OK with the way things are in their life right now, but if they live long enough they will be part of a tragedy while they live and might remember back to our discussion and realize God is the answer.

Dear paige w. When Christians tell of Jesus and His love for us, they are doing what Jesus is asking us to do: " Tell the Good News to all the world." And since people are different, you might be the target of a very devout follower of Christ. And all he, or she, is telling you: God loves you, and God wants your love, for God and for each other. Jesus died for us, and He is our Saviour, and He reconciled us to God, and we are free now to return to God. All we have to do: Repent, exchange our selfish and uncaring character for loving God, above all else, and loving others as we love ourselves, and Jesus is The Way back to God. That is the wonderful Good-News, paige. We can take it or leave it. But I do sincerely believe, whoever will try to find that out for him/herself, will always thank God for the differance it makes to LIFE on Earth. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

please clarify what you mean here, how do you see Christianity attacking or "fussing" over atheists?

As it has been pointed out a few times now, it appears that the "atheists" are fussing over Christian beliefs. Why else would they be here? we have not invaded Atheist forums. com. If their is a witch hunt going on it is the Church has become the hunted.

If this is the case then why not rebuke them for not leaving us alone? Maybe God has spoken to us and we can not simply live a life that does not acknowledge God.. To each his own right?

To each, their own . . . but the atheists are coming to the Christian site. Now, I don't have a problem with those who are polite. But the "to each their own" statement makes more sense when said to the non-Christians here, just as it would if you were to say that to Christians who preach regularly at a very non-Christian message board. Those who just want to be left alone and want nothing to do with our faith won't come here if they're reasonable people. The atheists we get are either the honest inquirers and seekers, or those who wish to stir the pot.
