Who said that the man in the image of God was physical?I hope I'm not understanding you, correctly. Are you trying to communicate that, e.g., a godly amputee is less in the image of God than an ungodly whole person?
To breathe life. What is life?
Man in this state is a reflection of that image. What makes man a man is beyond the physical. Plato did his best with an analogy to explain the real and the reflection. Its not "complete" but the message is adequately conveyed.
