  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yup! Currently mostly running 3.5 with various house rules.

LOL, wasn't 3.5 supposed to be "the rules are finally fixed!" edition? ;) Actually, my group is trying to migrate over from 3.0. We originally started playing AD&D back when we were in 6th grade. I miss the feel of the older game, but I sure do like the clarity of the rules system in 3.0, and even clearer in 3.5.

I am much liking the Unearthed Arcana "Gestalt Character" alternate rule. Pick two classes every level, take best-of-both-worlds. So, for instance, a fighter/wizard gets:
d10 hit die
+1 BAB
good fortitude save (for fighter level)
good will save (for wizard level)
spellcasting and bonus feats for wizard
bonus feats for fighter
2 skill points + int mod (because both classes get 2)

You get the idea. A lot of very cool combinations to be had there.

Gamed some as a kid. I admit to playing a pixie named Tinkerbell. (hey, I was 10 when I rolled her up.)

Never got so into the game that I could rattle off stats or tell you how to apply modifiers. I was more into the social and storyline aspect of it.

Don't game anymore, and I miss it. But hubby and I do enjoy playing video game RPGs like Neverwinter and DungeonSiege.

The group i'm in is slowly getting fed up of D&D, basically and I may be repeating myself here and if I am I'm sorry, we used to play serveral different systems and take it in turns to run play them, when some new people who do D&D joined we started doing D&D but its kinda ended up where all we do its D&D, one of new guys D&D has just finished then its gone to my D&D, now when that finishes it'll be back to D&D with someone else....................its all too much D&D for the rest of old group and few are talking about quiting that group.
