  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There may be a more compelling fulfillment, later, but the return of the Jews to Israel (1948) seems like a good fit.

(A prophecy can be fulfilled more than once, on different levels.)

The first 12 verses, maybe 13 verses (if you take grave as being a metaphor for being cut off from Israel) yes.

But I doubt the middle to latter verses. Israel especially Jerusalem is a messed up place. No way you can convince me that they have "removed all the detestable practices" where present day Jerusalem is kind of like San Francisco, Las Vegas. And then there is the obvious problem of them mostly not recognizing who their real Messiah is...

Hi there,

In Ezekiel 37 we read about the very familiar prophesy of resurrection through the prophetic Word.

I am keen to know if this prophesy has been fulfilled, and if not, when it will be...
I think it was fulfilled in the return from exile, where the Temple was rebuilt, the walls were rebuilt, and the people rededicated themselves to God with much rejoicing (Nehemiah 12:27-47). . .and idolatry was never again found in Israel.

Seems to me to be this ...

Ezekiel 37:1-14 is a vision of hope. It's a message that God's Word and His Spirit can bring life to any situation and to any soul-no matter how utterly dead and hopeless it might be.

Agreed. I think this will all be fulfilled when Christ sets up His millennial reign on earth, as described in Revelation 21 & 22. But that's a whole nother can of worms to open lol.

I have to agree. This passage is read on Good Friday in the Orthodox church in the service known as Lamentations, which is the burial of Christ by Joseph of Arimethea and Nicodemos. It is read in light of looking forward to the Resurrection of Christ and the general resurrection of all who have fallen asleep.

"Behold, I will open your tombs, bring you up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel."
