The Lord is my banner said:
Xsynerinc, forgive me, you are right you didn't mention self-pity. That was someone else. :sorry:

I apologise for my attitude yesterday, don't know what came over me.

I have never been drunk in the world but when I start soaking up the Lord's presense I get really quiet and friends tell me I have a glassy look in my eye's. My ex Pastor's affectionately called me their "quiet drunk" :D

I would think we are to meet God halfway. The preacher commanded the lady to laugh. The lady laughed. In order for God to do any work in her, she needed to meet God halfway. All she had to do was laugh for her healing.

Yet, mankind has been taught to think things out and rationalize everything they say or do. Logic says, laughter will not instantaniously heal us of our sickness, medicine does that. God just wants us to believe and meet Him halfway.

That story a few posts back of a police officer writing a tickets for somebody "drunk in the Spirit" reminds me of another story I either read or heard on audio tape.
It concerned somebody who was also pulled over for being drunk. As I recall it the lady driver was laughing so loud and could not get the door opened to answer the police officer. He then took hold of the door handle and as he did so he got "hit" with the same Spirit" The next thing is that the police officer begins to laugh right there on the side of the road. The next thing is that the lady get out of her car and puts her arm around the officer as they both stumble towards the patrol car both laughing hysterically. After fumbling with the officers keys the lady finally gets the patrol car door open and seats him behind the wheel, waving to him as he drives off still laughing uncontrollably.
Of course there was nothing else but for the lady to drive off ticket less eh?
Who said God has not got a sense of humour.

Wel I know there has to be a difference between joy in God's presence, and being drunk. I know there are scriptures of laughter brings healing, and joy unspeakable and full of glory. But there are other scriptures that tell you to watch and be sober-minded for your enemy is seeking those to devour them, and also the fruit of the spirit is having self-control.I have had a taste myself of being drunk,a place I had asked the Lord for help, because I wasn't sure if He wanted me to stay in that state of mind,or not,His reply was,'be sober-minded'.I know by reading a few of these posts, I am going to be fought on this one ! But hey all I know is,there is 'moderation',God does all things in order, not excessive.
Could you see what would happen if we had an enemy attack in the middle of being drunk? we wouldn't hit our target to well now would we? I know what your all goona say, maybe they will get drunk too, right? like I said........a false balance,God is against.God wants us to use wisdom, also. There are to many scriptures that it contradicts excessive behavior.

I now yield to what I know is God's Presence. When I was "touched" in revival back in 1997, my body staggered under the anointing for two weeks straight. As soon as I woke up and stood to the floor I staggered through the day until I went to bed.

HOWEVER, I was never "out of focus" and therefore I can see where some who have not experienced this would believe or think that your mind has to be in control or in order in order for us to have balance.

Heartofheaven, this is simply a different experience in having an intimate encounter with the Lord. The encounter is not based upon the experience but sometimes we experience things in body, soul and spirit (thanks for that Mark Downham) when we come in contact spirit to spirit with the Lord.

Jesus had balance. And if it's balance we seek, then it should be the balance of Jesus. 100% God - 100% man. 100% Spirit - 100% flesh. 100% eternal - 100% temporal.

He is the fulness of the Word and the Spirit.

So, anyway, I prayed about this as well and the Lord said to me, "Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be continuously filled (to the point of intoxication) with My Spirit."

I have compassion and love for those who do not experience such things as they are in God's Kingdom and they are where He sees fit to place them. I therefore expect the same love and compassion from them.

The Word and the Spirit agree and are One. If I'm full of the Word, it will go to say that I am full of the Spirit. Balance is not struck (and I believe most people understand this) when we compromise the Word over the Spirit or the Spirit over the Word. Balance is struck when we are full of Christ and abide in Him.

I dont know for sure, but if you think I do not have 'compassion',Iit's not the truth never said I didn't. All I was saying is for all of us to use wisdom, for the enemy comes around when we are in a weak state of mind, and it is for our protection that he warns us .I have had clean, clear, beautiful anointings over and over with my walk with My Lord, and it has never been~ not sober, onthe contrary and ,I wouldn't have it any other way! Cautious, that is what I am,.........for I have seen alot of false anointings and you know what? I am tired of the false teachings, and prophets, that the bible warns us constantly in the last days about. I am beginning to think that there is a blindness going around like spellbinding, and some are not getting it.My hope and prayer is that we will not be caught off our guard when satan really tries to come against us! For he is prowling.............stay intuned, pray, and watch like Jesus kept telling the dicsiples, when He was arrested.............awake thou that sleepest!!!eph514
