• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

First, a bit of history, I was raised in a violent home where there was always something wrong financially..I didn't have all that I needed..

I've been married 9yrs and have again been faced with years of financial difficulty. I can't count the times I've had to accept help just to survive.

We've moved 7 times...Many of my possessions have been sold and pawned for food..Others were broken in moving mishaps..The moment I let go of something, 2 things happen..

1. the person who gave it to me dies and I need to hold onto a piece of them but can't..

2. i or someone else needs it and i no longer have it to help myself or anyone else..

These 2 beliefs have really messed up my life..We now live in a basement with inlaws because we have no home of our own...There isn't much room and no closet space...

I know I have to let go but I just can't! I just can't let go of things and I can't seem to get organized..

I need help!

I know what you mean. I'm losing my home today and I've been out of full-time work for three weeks. We'll be staying at our landlords new apartment for a couple of weeks trying to figure out where we'll wind up for jobs. It isn't easy. Two things help me gt by Matthew 6:25-34 is one. The second is the knowledge that as long as I have a place to sleep at night without getting rained on I'm doing OK.

I will keep you in my prayers. Feel free to PM me if you just want to vent a little.
