Done with Inkscape. Turns out I didn't need paint after all.

This is awesome. Also, once again, open source software for the win. :)

I like the yellow, red and black in this one. You could have this hung up in an airport hallway or something. Have you ever submitted your art to a museum or public place?

Also, so that folks could recognize your art, you could put an artist stamp or initials and date in the corner.

Benefits of initialing and dating your artwork:

This? It was just to see if I could do a Jason Pollock sort of "painting" in Inkscape. Each color is on its own layer, including the background. Selected the Calligraphy tool, then Splotchy, adjusted the width and color, and moved the mouse like I was slinging paint. Hardly any effort at all. If there's any art to it, it's a case of a blind hog finding an acorn.

Had thought about doing an Andy Warhol sort of thing, but it turns out what I thought about doing is a common idea.

Andy Warhol is the artist who made the banana art, from what I can recall. Nice, it is cool how Inkscape has a built-in splatter effect. You can adjust the colors of the art after making it in the software?

Since I put each color on its own layer, I can easily change the colors. I lock the levels I'm not working on so I won't mess them up, anyway, so I unlock the level, select all the objects, then change the color. In this quick Pollock pastiche, found I had covered over too much red, so went back to that area and added more without disturbing the other colors or the display order.

If I hadn't put each color on its own layer, it would have made things more difficult. If I wanted to add a color that was under other colors, I would have to slide the element up and down in the layer dialog box until it looked right. If I had wanted to shift around the display order of all the colors, that would have been even more difficult. Using layers simplifies things.

About Warhol: Using a photo manipulation program and posterize or some other color manipulation function, the effects where he played with the colors and contrasts and saturations are simple now. It seems everyone has the idea of doing his Marylin Monroe using the photos of other pop icons or of Warhol himself.

This stuff sounds complicated, but cool. I am more of an orange, blue and purple type of guy with shades of brown and gray. :)

But yeah, you should try the Warhol one. Maybe have an astronaut on the moon in the style of Warhol.
