Recently posted something very offensive in my opinion.

Breakaway magazine is designed to give Christian teens safe, Bibilical answers on girls, dating, music, and any questions.  A guy wrote something on self-pleasure (masturbation).  He asked for help and wanted to know what he could do to stop.  You know what they said in response?

Pretty much:

When you're married, you'll have a healthy life with your wife, but until then, what's a guy to do?

In my opinion, it's not that big a deal with God.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

What kind of Biblically based answer is THAT?!  I really look up to him a lot, but this is one area I disagree with.  Our bodies are the temples of God.  If a man lusts a woman in his heart, he has commited adultery.  Is adultery in the temple of God regularly not that big a deal with God.  And when a guy tries to stop, he just says, "Don't worry about it.  It's all right."  Is this offensive to any other Christians?

Moderators, I understand that this is a very serious topic and is very contraversial.  It is a mature topic, which can be offensive to some.  Please edit this if you find anything wrong in any way.

Teaching self-control would be better than saying that some forms of non-marital sex are no big deal.

It's a small step from there to accepting the notion that all non-intercourse sex is fine, or that "safe sex" is okay, too.

Self-control isn't taught much from the pulpits anymore, not just in regard to sex, but in regard to money, debt, drugs, or sin in general. There's a lot of talk about God miraculously healing people with self-control problems, but I gotta tell you, it's rare. Self-control is one of the fruits, and something we are to practice and learn.

Seach self-control at any Bible search website, and you'll see that it is necessary and learnable.
