• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not saying I never sin, of course. What I am saying is the illness wasn't a result of sin. I stayed on top of that when I was younger. I repented a couple times a day, something like losing my temper or saying something unkind about another person. I'd pray often and ask God if there was anything I needed to repent of, that I hadn't let go of.
I struggle with forgiveness family members, and I did willingly, But I would get flashback of abuse and catch myself dwelling on the hurt and anger, I'd repent ask God to help me get past it and say aloud that I forgave them.
But I finally realized that I was struggling against torment not unforgivingness, that realization set me free from the flashbacks.
But then when I got sick in late 2010, God wasn't healing me or helping get to a doctor (no money) on top of that, I had to deal with a ridiculing mother, who wouldn't shut her mouth. I won't go into that, but I had to get away from her because her mouth wouldn't allow me to get past the anger - I was repenting about every hour back them. I actually wanted to slap my mother - that mouth!!
I just want to try a different approach to my relationship with God. It'd kind of hard to be hurting or feeling sick and not cry out to God to heal me. He never has, so I need to accept that and try to look for a relationship with him without expecting anything from him pertaining to worldly needs.

Instead of repenting every hour its much easier to simply obey. God much rather would have an obedient daughter than one who repents every hour. If you are truly repentant, you wont need to keep repenting every hour. I don't get it. Just repent and don't do it again.

Looks like you haven't forgiven your mother. Its not just a one time event. Jesus said we must forgive our brothers seventy times seven.

God wants to heal you, but it must be on His terms. Do you want to get well? Then you must do as he instructs.

How do I re-establish a relationship with God in the right way?

This might help (it helped me)....

Horrible things happen in life. Accidents, afflictions, calamities and suffering of all kinds.

God does not plan superfluous misery though. The misery that afflicts us has an intrinsic and inalienable purpose in the plan, even if we cannot see it.

Q. How do I know this?

I know that everything is brought to happen by the Logos.

Q. How do I know that?

The Logos is the name for the intelligence behind all that is.

Q. How do I know that there is an intelligence behind all that is?

What are the options? That there is either an intelligence behind events in the universe, or it is random.

What would be the signs of an intelligence at work? The universe would be orderly and structured, where everything that happens is governed by cause and effect. A universe where everything is a form of information in a giant structured and sequential communication. And....it is.

What instead would be the signs of randomness at work? The universe would not be orderly. It would instead be full of magical events happening chaotically with no cause or pattern. And....it is not.

The evidence points overwhelmingly to intelligence. Randomness meanwhile is just a pseudo-scientific "god of the gaps" with no evidence for its existence whatsoever.

That intelligence is the Logos; or what (CS) Lewis called “the all-pervasive principle of concretion or cohesion whereby the universe holds together”. It is in control, and so everything is governed by cause and effect.

Q. How do I know that such means a “Plan”?

Cause and Effect means structure and orderliness.

Structure and orderliness by definition intrinsically promotes things of structure and order: cohesive and wholesome society, radiant health and longevity, wisdom and clear understanding, solace and emotional stability, endurance through hardship.

Hence there is a Plan. A purpose to the Logos' work. A direction that is inherent to the Logos' own nature.

Q. How do I know that there is no superfluous misery to that Plan.

It is orderly in all things, so by definition there is NOTHING superfluous to it. Everything in an orderly universe is by its nature both unavoidable and intrinsically part of a plan that promotes things of structure and order. Everything that happens had to happen, could not have happened any other way, and by dint of being orderly is inalienably part of that plan and purpose.

Q. How are we supposed to respond to that?

With Faith.

Q. What is Faith?

Faith is simply “being surrendered to reality on the grounds that.....”:

1, …..all is cause and effect (so we don't have a say in what happens anyway)

2, …..cause and effect means structure and orderliness,

3, …..structure and orderliness by definition intrinsically favour: orderly and wholesome society, radiant health and longevity, wisdom and clear understanding, solace and emotional stability, endurance through hardship.

Walking “by faith, not by sight” means that even though suffering happens, and at times the complexity of the world can appear as chaos, we can know not only that Logos has a plan, but that it is a meaningful one with a wholesome purpose and direction, that no suffering is superfluous, and (because all is cause and effect) we don't have any say in what happens anyway – hence “do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear ”.

Q. What is the opposite of faith?

The opposite of faith is the denial of reality (and a belief in independent personal will and power that can rebel and fight against reality).

Q. Where does faith come from?

The same place as everything else. It comes from the Logos. It is not something that we do of ourselves independent of all else (nothing is - no one has any power, or weakness, that is not given them by the Logos). It is a recognition that we are brought to, or not, by the Logos.

You might call it an “unearned and undeserved gift of grace” that brings “peace [but] not as the world giveth it”.

There is a God, and that God is the Logos; the one by which and through which all that is, is made. Everything that happens does so according to God's plan, and we are blessed to be able to see his plan and his wonder.

He never has, so I need to accept that and try to look for a relationship with him without expecting anything from him pertaining to worldly needs.

what if He's already released the power to heal you, but you haven't yet realized how to receive it? is this a possibility?

2Pe 1:1-4
(1) Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
(2) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Mar 9:14-24
(14) And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
(15) And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
(16) And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
(17) And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
(18) And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
(19) He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
(20) And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
(21) And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
(22) And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
(23) Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
(24) And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

first you have to see from scripture that it is always God's will to heal; all that cry out to Him for healing get the same answer that He gave this father:

If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

you do believe, and yet have not received - make this father's cry your own:

Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief

Trust in God has a lot to do with our expectations. If we trust that God will solve all of our worldly problems and remove all suffering, we will surely perceive that trust to be broken. For me, trust is very simple: God knows what He is doing, and I don't have to understand everything. It's amazing how liberating it was when I really started to believe that.

Please let me make this part clear - I did not become ill due to a sin. I was born with a social disability that made everyday life extremely stressful - did I commit a sin in the womb, then?
Now, I am not as deeply spiritual as I use to be. But if illness came from a sin, the Bible speaks of the sins of the parents being visited on the child. My mother did admit that she use to play with the Ouija Board, she was really into it. She played with it when she was expecting me and even admitted she once saw a dark shadow calling her name (apparently it freaked her out). She and some others were even into trying to talk to demons.
I was born with a social disorder and had a very unusual pattern of misfortunes all my life. So was all that sorrow in my life because I sinned before I was even born or maybe the sin my mother committed while she was carrying me?
I should point out, I lived a far better Christian life than most, even as a child. I had a heart to serve God and please him. I lived my life as if there were nothing else in life but God. Until I finally broke under one thing after another come upon me then the Fibro on top. I just broke.

I've tried just starting the morning with the Lord's Prayer, praying slowly to reflect on the meaning of the words. But it just doesn't help.
Understand too, when I say I am afraid to trust God, it's like asking God to help me find something I lost or guiding me when I have a new task ahead of me. I've just come to doubt rather those prayers are even acknowledge.

All I can say is don't blame God but instead pray and
ask for forgiveness for your mistrust and fear that God
doesn't or can't bless you anymore.

To blame God in anyway is just what the devil wants you to do.

I know it isn't easy but if you cut yourself off from God then
you trully are alone and have little recourse but to suffer without hope.

God has promised you ETERNAL LIFE so to me He has given you everything
of everlasting beauty, life, joy and fellowship with Him and all the saints.

To me you are looking at what you do not have instead of seeing that God
has already given you everything of everlasting value that He has.

I am trying to help you so don't think I am judging you when
all I am trying to do is to get you into a postion so that God can bless you.

Faith moves God's hands for good in our lives but accusation
and mistrust, ties God's hands so that He is unable to move.

God will not force His good will on you.

If you want to believe that God has failed you and no longer
can be trusted, God will not force His blessings into your life.

If you will repent from your unbelief and ask God to renew a
right spirit within you, I believe you will see His goodness
come into your life in a greater way.

Unbelief is sin.....

James 4:8
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands,
you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

You can know it is God by the Spirit that lives in you. You know it is Godby the Spirit. How many times in the New Testament is the Spirit mentioned?Over and over again! It takes practice to haer the Spirit, but that is how you now. :)

I have lost not only all my hope and much faith, but I realize I don't trust God
anymore. I'm afraid to trust him. I'm afraid to reach out to him.
Perhaps I have had the wrong views and values as a Christian.
How do I change my relationship with God? How do I see things in a different light?
In truth, It's hard for me to read the Bible or listen to preachers anymore. I've become distant from all this as a defense mechanism. I still repent of sins and ask his forgiveness but nothing beyond that.
How do I re-establish a relationship with God in the right way?
When the Lord made man in His image He was reflecting a loving God. In order to be loving, there must be an object of those affections. That is one of the reasons I believe in the triune God of scripture.
I would suggest you allow yourself to feel His love. Wrap yourself in His righteousness and trust He is able to fulfill all that He has promised. IDK why you've not been healed, no one but the Lord could know. But I will continue to pray for you. I ask the Lord in the Name Of Jesus that you be set free. Set free and healed of all physical, emotional and spiritual diseases, set free from any bondages or curses that may be afflicting you. In the name of Jesus we speak healing and God's comfort and love over you. Break off anything the enemy is trying to afflict you with and I speak His grace into your life. Amen

God bless, andrea

I wanted to thank everybody for their help and apologize if I was cross with anybody. I may have gotten off topic.
I don't know if I can really put in to words what the entire problem is except - How do I know when it's really God?
Faith would not ask if it is or isn't God, faith would say:
Father God, there is no life or hope but in you and your Christ so
no matter what happens to me, I chose You as my Lord and my God.

This isn't meant to be trite or condencending as this is an attitude
that comes for many of us as our last stand, when the wheels have fallen
off and the outlook looks bleak, all we can do is stand upon our faith that
God loves us and our future is in Him alone...

Dear one loved of God....This is the best advice I can possibly give you and I cannot say it any better than what has already been written by Paul, who knew what it meant to suffer for the sake of Christ...

Ephesians 6: 10-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and
in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and
having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

God's leading always lines up with His revealed written word. this should help:

How To Hear God's Voice - Audio Teaching - Andrew Wommack Ministries

Hearing From God | Faith Life Church - Branson, MO

start praticing hearing from Him in the little things like what to wear or what He would like for you to be doing at any given moment; then when you ask about the big things, you'll be more able to recognize His still, small voice in spite of everyone else's shouting :)

I have a confession. I hadn't prayed much as I said, except repentance prayer at night and the Lord's Pray in the Mornings. Awhile back I was walking into the bedroom and was overtaken by a power of God upon me It was so powerful that I had to stop and sit down. He spoke to my heart a warning, one I didn't want to hear, one I hope wasn't really from God. I can't remember word for word but it was a warning that I needed to be prepared, I was going to go through the worst time in all of my life. I remember something about, it was already starting.
It shook me up, really. What I went through with the CHF in the early stages was the closest thing I ever wanted to get to hell. I was in agony day in and day out - for years. I am afraid! I'm terrified of going back into that - and now I'm being told that I'll go into something even worse!
I'm hoping that I'm wrong, that it wasn't God at all. There are times in the past, I really believed God was guiding me and realized on down the road it wasn't him. I'm hoping this is one of those times. That what was spoken to me heart wasn't God.
I know people would tell me to test the spirit. That never word for me, all I ever got was silence in return.
As I said, this has me pretty scared, I'd rather be dead than go through even worse than I had suffered those years ago.

God would certainly know how you are going to react to something He says to you in such a moment before He says it; do you think that He would say something to you that would make you afraid?

hint:

1Jn 4:15-19
(15) Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
(16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
(17) Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
(18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
(19) We love him, because he first loved us.

the only way you can know if God has spoken to you in such a moment is to measure what you hear against His word; if it conflicts, it wasn't Him. that's why He gave us His revealed written word - so that we could recognize His still, small voice inside of each of us

You mentioned your mum playing the ouija board. This is a no-no in scripture. This may explain why you are having these spiritual experiences that are acting like God but are not. People call up spiritual guides but it is not the Holy Spirit. She could have passed on or opened the door for them to enter your life. Or you could have unknowingly invited them in. Thats why you are finding it hard to read the bible.

To get help you need to ask an elder to pray with you and get delivered from this spirit of fear thats got a hold on you. Because from what you've written it does not seem right for you to suffer this much, and be unable to be free. Trust that Jesus WILL deliver you. It is only by his blood, his name that we are saved. Spirits can masquerade as God and promise you all kinds of things. They can operate a counterfeit religion thats called christianity but it isn't. You need to believe in Jesus first before you consider God, because lots of people believe in God but without Jesus their God is a false one. Be ready to confess any sins you have, don't hold on to them or proudly think you don't have any. Witchcraft is a sin. The bible says if we humble ourselves God will lift us up. Jesus will come to wipe them away those sins, but you must be ready to admit to them. And don't be afraid. Fear is not of God.
He loves you.

Actually, I'm not going to church right now.But there's a reason - in all this town, I can't find a church that hasn't fallen away from God - usually just preaching what I call "cake and Ice cream" sermons, telling people what they want to hear for they'll come back and put money in the offering plates. That just this town, really.
The one church I found that is true to God isn't in this town and I can't get to it, I've tried.
I was always able to read my bible until just lately. That has to do with losing hope, I guess.

Don't lose hope. Jesus intercedes for us from heaven anytime.
Can you ring this church and ask the elders to come or pray with you over the phone? How far away is this town. If its only an hour or so away, if they are true ministers, and know you are sick and need help, they will come to you.
