Look at this, from chatgpt, and we can examine the sources:

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has implemented numerous projects worldwide to improve access to clean drinking water and sanitation services. These initiatives aim to enhance public health, reduce waterborne diseases, and promote sustainable water management practices. Safe Practices on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (Safe-WASH) Project:

Objective: Improve access to drinking water and sanitation facilities, and promote good sanitation practices, personal hygiene, and kitchen hygiene.
Funding: $409,000
Impact: Enhances community health by reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases through improved water and sanitation infrastructure and hygiene education.
Source: USAID Safe-WASH Project
2. USAID IUWASH Tangguh Project in Indonesia:

Objective: Support Indonesia's commitment to providing safe drinking water and sanitation services for all.
Funding: $44 million
Impact: Aims to strengthen the capacity of local water utilities, improve access to clean water, and enhance sanitation services across Indonesian communities.
Source: USAID Press Release on IUWASH Tangguh
3. Water Supply System in Ethiopia's Somali Region:

Objective: Provide safe drinking water to communities in the Adadle area.
Impact: Benefits over 14,200 households by delivering a reliable source of clean water, thereby improving health outcomes and reducing the burden of water collection.
Source: USAID Launches Project in Somali Region
4. Clean Water Access in Ghana's Northern Region:

Objective: Deliver clean water to residents in the Northern Region of Ghana.
Funding: GH₵10 million (approximately US$877,546)
Impact: Provides sustainable water systems to over 20,000 residents, improving health and economic well-being.
Source: USAID Press Release on Ghana Water Project
5. Improved Access to Safe Drinking Water in Liberia:

Objective: Enhance service delivery of water resources at the community level.
Funding: USAID-funded initiative
Impact: Works in partnership with local government institutions and water service providers to support improved service delivery, allowing for more responsive and decentralized management of critical water resources.
Source: Winrock International Project in Liberia.

This isn't exactly the kind of aid you just cut out of the blue. Waterborne illness kills even here in America. It could easily ravage 3rd world countries, and continues to do so every day.

Who is going to tell these people that their infant children will be ok drinking water with giardia in it? All because we were concerned about gay operas and couldn't figure a way to cut opera funding while still allowing money for drinking water?

If USAID funding remains frozen, or worse, if the agency is dismantled, people will die. This isn't some videogame or movie. This is real life. And there will be severe consequences unless funding continues.

If we could believe numbers previously posted by most any department we might not need DOGE. I believe this country is going to be totally shocked when all of the facts are out. Why were taxpayers not previously told about this corruption and waste? That answer should be obvious.
Doge? Just look at funding information from the agencies and departments themselves.

From chatgpt. Don't you guys know how to look something up on the internet? Here is information from Ohio (one of many states utilizing BIL funding for charger stations):

As of early 2025, Ohio has been actively expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The state has made significant progress in enhancing its EV charging network:

Current Infrastructure: Ohio currently offers more than 130 publicly available fast chargers, with at least a dozen NEVI-compliant charging stations.
DRIVE.OHIO.GOV

Planned Expansion: With two rounds of federal funding, Ohio plans to add 45 additional fast charging locations, each equipped with at least four ports. These planned locations aim to fill gaps along Ohio’s interstate system, ensuring a charging station is available at least every 50 miles, aligning with federal requirements.
DRIVE.OHIO.GOV

Funding Allocation: In total, Ohio expects to receive $140 million in NEVI funding by 2026 to support the expansion of EV charging. As part of this initiative, DriveOhio awarded more than $18 million in NEVI funds for 27 new EV charging stations along key corridors, including I-70, I-71, I-74, I-75, I-76, I-77, and I-90.
DRIVE.OHIO.GOV

BIL funding for charger stations, current, ongoing, planned, completed etc. accounts for many tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of currently planned construction projects.

This isn't some thing where some random person built 8 charger stations and just decided to pocket the rest. This is a massive nationwide operation and countless contractors and DOT officials are actively involved.

And this is just 1 state out of dozens that are doing the same thing.

No one is saying USAID never did or is not now doing any legitimate humanitarian aid, BUT it has lost focus and has become a huge wasteful slush fund not accountable to anyone. We can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to the corruption because of the emotional defenses.

Again, nobody disagrees. By all means, end the corruption. But why do legitimate humanitarian projects also have to take the hit? Infants shouldn't die of listeria because some over-privileged school board mom got upset about a transgender book at a Peruvian library.

All I know is that if even just 1 innocent child in Africa dies as a product of this careless gutting of humanitarian aid, the books will be opened, and people will have to answer for their sins.

So, let us hope that the trump administration doesn't let this happen.

We agree on corruption and disagree on using unfounded horror stories about killing children with no evidence that is the case. Legitimate aid will continue.

Understand that many children and others died because the Biden administration diverted money from where it was supposed to go. I would think tens of thousands died that would not have died under an administration like we are seeing now with Trump as president. And probably hundreds of thousands have people have been trafficked because of Biden/Democrat policies and many of those sold into sexual slavery will have that stick with them their whole lives. Yes, every one of us will one day have to stand before God and answer for our lives. Let us all support the effort to clean up the corruption in Washington.

I tend to think that charities are more efficient at doing foreign aid work than the U.S. government is.

Of course, the government is also less likely to discriminate or ask pesky moral questions to those in need of help, unlike Christian churches and charitable agencies. This whole thing is political: Christian churches and charities cannot be trusted to help the needy because they will deny help to those not needy or moral enough, is what liberals believe, and to some extent they are right.

Trump, on the other hand, just wants to dismantle this liberal political agenda and throw a bone to his supporters. It's easier to target this agency because the ramifications of gutting it most of his supporters will never see, as opposed to gutting other programs like Social Security and federal pensions that would make his supporters regret their votes.

Did you get a wrong number or what? We just caught Biden administration employees not providing disaster relief to those who supported Trump. That's potential discrimination against roughly half the country, the discrimination we have seen with elitist politicians, media members, prosecuting attorneys, and judges that typically are on the left. The vast majority of Washington D.C. area federal employees are on the left and discrimination by them is far too common and should not be tolerated. Not too many years ago Little Sisters of the Poor wanted a religious exemption for health coverage and the government told them they could get it if they only served Catholics. The sisters flat out told the government they refuse to check a person's religion as they went through the doors of the soup kitchens. Joe Biden announced he was going to be the unifier and you can judge whether he kept his word. Trump ran on limiting federal government and deporting the illegals who had caused havoc in our country, and firmly addressing wars throughout the world. As to Social Security Trump said he wanted to stop the taxes on Social Security for seniors just like he want to stop taxes on tips. Unfortunately, although conservatives constantly warned that Social Security was going to soon run out of money, every time a Republican broughtup ways to solve the problem the Democrats (along with the usual name calling of Hitler, racists, fascists, etc) claimed the Republicans were out to take away Social Security and Medicare for seniors. Finally the Democrat playbook grew old and enough Democrats saw through it to elect Trump.

What does the NYT have to do with Catholic relief services being cut?

USAID didn’t fund Politico to the tune of $8 million.

Per the Washington Post, it paid for Politico subscriptions, and over the span of two fiscal years, it spent $44,000. That was far less than Donald Trump’s party spent on it: “In total, 38 Republicans in the House spent over $300,000 on Politico subscriptions in the first nine months of 2024, and committees led by Republicans expensed almost $500,000 of Politico subscriptions in the same time period.” As recently as this week, a White House department bought access to Politico Pro for 15 users.
Also: The New York Times didn’t receive tens of millions from the feds (although it did receive some money for subscriptions). Entities with “New York” in their title did. Bill Kristol didn’t get a fat envelope from the Biden administration. A pro-democracy group on whose board Kristol sits got a grant from a fund that got a grant from a foundation that got a grant from USAID. And Jeffrey Epstein … well, actually, Jeffrey Epstein did receive money from USAID. But not that Jeffrey Epstein.

$15 million for condoms to the Taliban through USAID. . .

$446,700 to promote the expansion of atheism in Nepal through the State Department. . .

$3,315,446 for “being LGBTQ in the Caribbean” through USAID. . .

Please do not try and justify the abuses. As to children in Africa, how many children died of starvation in Africa because the Biden administration diverted money to kooky hard-left approved causes? This has been stopped. The American people don't need government nannies deciding where charitable money should be used. And remember a lot is lost by adding bureaucratic layers. Leave it up to the individual citizen. That's part of the mandate given to Trump--to reduce the size of big government.

These elected leaders should be working for the American people to eliminate waste and fraud instead of unhinged rants threatening fighting in the streets to protect the status quo.

I'm pretty sure USAID was their slush fund and we just blew it up. That's why they are losing their minds, they are corrupt and we have exposed them.

They can all get over themselves the Americans are taking back control of their country. No more deep state slush fund for the democrats.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. There's nothing wrong with cutting poor spending. But there is no need to cut all the good spending in addition. If a single innocent child in Africa dies as a product of all this, people will have to answer to God for this.

here's an overview of USAID's drinking water-related programs, including their funding, target countries, and the impact on lives saved:

1. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Programs:

Funding and Reach: In fiscal year 2023, USAID allocated approximately $475 million to WASH initiatives.
CIRCLEOFBLUE.ORG

Impact: These programs have provided millions with access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation, significantly reducing waterborne diseases and associated mortality rates.
2017-2020.USAID.GOV

2. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI):

Funding: Part of USAID's broader health initiatives, PMI has been instrumental in combating malaria.

Impact: The initiative saves approximately 50,000 lives annually by reducing malaria-related deaths, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
VOX.COM

3. Dispensers for Safe Water Program:

Funding: Supported through USAID's Development Innovation Ventures.

Impact: This program has provided access to safe drinking water for millions, significantly reducing waterborne diseases and saving countless lives.
VOX.COM

4. Global Water Strategy:

Funding: The U.S. announced a three-year, $1.2 billion investment in foreign assistance for water security and sanitation.
USAID.GOV

Impact: Aims to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water and sanitation services to millions worldwide, thereby reducing mortality from water-related illnesses.

5. Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Initiatives:

Funding: In 2022, USAID increased access to drinking water for over 440,000 people in the DRC.
GLOBALWATERS.ORG

Impact: Improved water access has led to better health outcomes and reduced mortality from waterborne diseases in the region.

These programs exemplify USAID's commitment to enhancing global health through improved water access and sanitation, directly contributing to the reduction of water-related diseases and saving lives across various countries.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been a significant contributor to global polio eradication efforts. Historically, the U.S. government has provided approximately $2 billion of the $11 billion spent on polio eradication initiatives.
2012-2017.USAID.GOV

In fiscal year 2022, Congress appropriated $75 million specifically for USAID's polio eradication activities.
ARCHIVE.POLIOERADICATION.ORG

These funds have been instrumental in supporting the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), which has achieved a 99% reduction in polio cases worldwide. The GPEI's efforts have saved an estimated 20 million people from paralytic disease and disability and have averted more than 900,000 polio-related deaths.

You seem to be missing the point. There were many innocent children who died under the BIden regime because of improper conduct by government employees. How much money was diverted away from good programs or pocketed we don't know. Now while USAID is being shut down, the responsibilities are being merged into the State Department. This should not be too difficult because there is a LOT of parallel in offices. The idea is to get the money allocated just as the people, through their representatives in Congress, want it to be allocated. The political corruption and graft needs to end.
