This is Washington DC here! Are you kidding me? You telling me the city with a black mayor, black police chief, majority black and brown police force, 9 out of 14 city council members black or brown, basically the city where the majority of people in a position of power are either black or brown, that put a mural of Black Lives Matter; Defund the police right down the middle of main street in front of the white house is bias against black people? You jokin’ right???It is a question about race relations and law enforcement. Would a BLM protest be allowed in or would they be gassed and shot with rubber and real bullets?
Personally, I don't think BLM would of made it to the block the capital is on.
You proved that white privilege exists in your post when you had to ask us to imagine the scenario you posed. Thanks to white privilege your scenario is extremely rare, if it even exists at all.Imagine this: there is an unprivileged white student who lives in a trailer park. Despite his lower socio-economic status, he does well in school and scores high on the SAT/ACT.
Meanwhile there is a a privileged black student whose parents are millionaires. Despite having access to all sorts of resources, he does okay in school and scores not as high on the SAT/ACT as the white trailer park student.
Both of these students apply to the same university. The less qualified, privileged black gets accepted, but the more qualified, unprivileged white gets rejected.
That's how affirmative action works in the United States. It purports to exist to even the playing field and help disadvantaged people of color, but in reality it discriminates against white people, including genuinely disadvantaged white people. It's very unfair. And people say "white privilege" exists.
Here is another example. In the NFL 70% of the athletes are black. No one is saying we should have more diversity in the NFL and implement quotas for more white, Hispanic, and Asian players. Meanwhile 75% of all NFL coaches are white, and people are saying that is a major problem that needs to be fixed by creating incentives for teams to hire less qualified coaches of color. You can read about it here: NFL owners table proposal incentivizing hires of minority coaches, GMs (usatoday.com)
So let me get this straight... White privilege purports to exists in the US. Yet everyone thinks it's okay when 70% of NFL players are black, but having 75% of all NFL coaches being white is somehow a problem that needs to be corrected. Are you kidding me?
Both examples I listed sound like black privilege.

SpeculationWhen has that ever happened?
RIght because every peaceful protest with majority black protesters has gone off without a hitch. This wasn't a protest down Mainstreet, it was the take over of the capital building. This is Washington DC here! Are you kidding me? Just don't think a black mob would have been allowed in where the senators and all of them had to go in their offices on lockdown. I'm pretty sure the capital itself would have been locked down.
Do you really think that blacks are displacing whites in college through affirmative action? You think AA is used in the majority of college acceptance or do they ever make it on their own merits? You proved that white privilege exists in your post when you had to ask us to imagine the scenario you posed. Agreed. The first question you should consider when police are shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at protesters is "were the police being attacked or did they have a legitimate reason to clear the area of protesters". If the answer is "yes" then it doesn't matter what race the protesters are. A lot of those "peaceful protests" weren't all that peaceful.

South Carolina mayor suspects 'yellow sticky substance' on her car was sprayed by vandals, not a pollen cloud
This woman is smart enough and capable enough to be mayor of a South Carolina town. She went to her car one day and found it covered with a mysterious sticky yellow substance.
She called the police and claimed she was the victim of a hate crime. The police decided that it was just pollen which had stuck to her car.
Clearly this woman's views on racism have badly impaired her ability to perceive reality.
Agreed.
What is different about this situation IMO is that it wasn't a protest, it was a rally that turned into a storming of the Capital under the premise of "take it back" or something similar. They trusted that the people would stop before charging into politicians' offices.
.
I think I see your mistake here: election to office doesn't demonstrate any innate intelligence above the masses that elect them. A great many politicians seem to be nothing more than third-rate con-artists. Just slightly below the traveling tent preachers who have the good sense to leave town when the free cash is extracted.
Election to office doesn't demonstrate any innate intelligence or ability....but without intelligence or ability, that politician's inadequacy becomes rapidly apparent.

For many of the same reasons, AOC should have been an obviously bad choice as well. What did she learn about writing laws while bartending? Nothing.
Is this just another one of your speculations? Here is how I see it; Washington DC is a very liberal city run by black and brown people in positions of power. These people in power de-funded the police cutting millions from the budget. When the capital riot happened, the fact that the police was not prepared for the attack is them just getting what they asked for; not an example of white supremacy. These people have nothing to complain about; it wasn't about black people in power enforcing white supremacy, it was about this stupid idea of defund the police coming back and biting them in the ---- (you know what)RIght because every peaceful protest with majority black protesters has gone off without a hitch. This wasn't a protest down Mainstreet, it was the take over of the capital building.

No statistics say you got a better shot if you are Asian; or even Nigerian (they do better than whites too)IF you are born white in this country, all of the statistics say you got a better shot at a good future if you are white.
Then why are Asians and Nigerians doing better than whites?WHite Privilege. It doesn't mean whites are handed everything they need to get ahead, it just means that in a society where white people run the majority of small business, corporations, and board rooms, other whites have a better chance of being considered for promotions and important work in general.
Any individual can do well or not but on average, whites got it better in the USA.
Statehood will be more than welcomed there! Here is how I see it; Washington DC is a very liberal city run by black and brown people in positions of power.
