  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Borealis,

That's not a bad theoretical... But let's make it a little different... Lets imagine that it's a bunch of english-speaking light-haired Chrisitans.
Yes, let's. What would be the reaction of the vast majority of Christians around the world to such horrible crimes? Dancing in the streets and 'Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!' on the airwaves? Or nearly-universal condemnation of their actions?
Would it be reasonable to subject white guys (especially if they were seen with bibles) to additional security checks? Maybe.
Would it be reasonable to suspect that such behavior is culturally acceptable among Christians?
What about questioning anyone seen wearing a cross, or with English words on a shirt. Refuse people entry to a plane if they are wearing a 'WWJD?' shirt?

A person wearing a shirt with Arabic writing (and a english translation) is not a security threat. They should have as much right to wear that as anything else.
Fine. Just don't expect people in New York City to be all warm and fuzzy about reminders of the worst day in their history.

right. And wearing a bomb belt does not mean you were going to set it off. Wait until after the fact. Let them commit the crime before security acts. Right?

I think it is reprehenible and disgusting that grandmothers and babies are being searched when we know the profile of the people who commit these terrorist acts.

So you won't answer my question? I was hoping to have a discussion:(
