Consciousness is limited to only 5% of the brain.
So does that mean time is getting faster as well. But they figured that out many years ago. It's not consciousness making the universe expand it is time. Einstein said you can't separate time and space. Supposedly, they have tested this and found that the universe is expanding at the same rate that time flows...
So does that mean time is getting faster as well.
I think it dependes on what is classed as reality. If reality only consists of 5% of the universe then that is only a material reality such as matter. But the remainder whether its dark energy or matter or maybe consciousness and Mind its not made of matter in the classical sense. That's how I'm understanding the title of this thread.

Maybe the material reality is just a surface measure of something else that cannot be measured through empiracle science. The question is I think is where does consciousness fit into all this. The material view of reality is a 3rd person view. But I think to get a complete understanding of things we need to include the observer, the scientists as well and how they experience things.
Consciousness isn't a thing that resides and can be found. Consciousness is what the brain does. Now that's a cute thought. Who says that? Last I heard they can't even find where our consciousness resides in the brain, so they can't know that it's only 5% of the brain.
I read an article one time that said the only true reality that we have is in our mind. That our thoughts may be the only substance that is real for us in the natural world.
I've heard that before as well and it's really kind of lazy philosophical thinking. There is plenty of external evidence that "reality" consists of things outside of our minds that we experience pretty much the same way. We will all fall from a cliff if we attempt to walk off of it. The cliff is real. Gravity is real. Our bodies are real and we understand how these completely non-mental and external forces act on us. It's not "all in our heads."
What are "spiritual senses"? How do we observe and quantify them?I think they define reality as of the normal world which we see and can measure and discern with our 5 senses. What reality means is that alone and it does not mean that this reality we see is the only true thing.
There is a larger reality above this world. This world is but a shadow of the larger reality. But this larger reality we can not perceive with our 5 senses.
Did someone say 5 senses? I think we actually may have at least twice that amount in total when you combine our 5 natural senses with our spiritual senses. Doesn't scripture say that God create dall things, both the visible and the invisible things? And doesn't scripture also say that we are to look towards the unseen? And that we should exercise our spiritual senses? It does.
So technically just like spacetime, we can't seperate one from the other even though spiritual senses and natural senses are developed differently. But who looks to the unseen?
I'm not saying it is right. I'm saying, it could be true.
Have you ever heard of the double slit experiment? There's a bunch of videos about it on youtube. The old first experiements and they have redone the experiment lately. they have had dramatic results. They said that they got different results depending on if there was a camera on or not!
Go watch the video about the experiement and then we can be on the same page and talk about their findings and what they mean to us.
Sure. There's lots of things we cant see.Remember! Never say never, lol.
There's more to this world than meets the eye.
What are "spiritual senses"? How do we observe and quantify them?
Funnily enough, with the talk about "reality" being only in our heads and what we can perceive even though I've noted that a physical reality external to us can be observed, the only place this "spiritual realm" seems exist is in people's heads.
Me neither but I would imagine it would depend on where you are positioned. I watched some science show a while back and they mentioned that if a rocket travelled at the speed of light then those on the ship would experience time faster and those on earth it will be slower. So a trip to the next star may take around 4 years for those on the ship but it would be a much longer time for those on earth. So the further the distance the greater the time disparity.I don't know, I'm not a Physicist. But I have heard this, that time is speeding up so it could be true. If time is speeding up then the expansion of the universe is speeding up also. Why I do not know. But I do know that they said that you can't think about time or space without speaking of the same thing, so they call it space-time now.

So five years on a ship traveling at 99 percent the speed of light (2.5 years out and 2.5 years back) corresponds to roughly 36 years on Earth.
Time Machines | AMNH
What time is it? That depends on how fast you're traveling. Thanks to Einstein, we know that the faster you go, the slower time passes--so a very fast spaceship is a time machine to the future.www.amnh.org
I like this one Pastor a lot, he's passed on now but he made some very good video messages. His name is Chuck Missler ...
We have natural eyes to see, ears to hear, touch, taste and smell. These are natural senses and the 5 most common. SO we have to have spiritual eyes and ears and tase and all those too, right? Our natural senses let us navigate the natural world. So our spiritual senses helps us in the spiritual realm. But when the Lord was crucified the veil between the natural & spiritual was torn down.
I'm extremely skeptical. All of these testimonies and experiences occurred inside people's heads. Got anything from reality? Like, actual data? Now, any veil we have is of our own making. Unbelief mostly. I've heard hundreds if not thousands of peoples testimonies where they were caught up so to speak and got the chance to visit heaven. Lots of those testimonies, and I've heard several of them remark, I don't know if I went in spirit or bodily. They could still see and hear and things were solid to then. A few have described getting out of their body and feeling better! and then an unpleasantness when they get back in their body.
I know this experiment. I am familiar with it. But, thanks. Here I found the double slit experiement for you. Pay attenion towards the end where he explains how as soon as they put a camera on it then they got different results.
*Cough* Abacus *cough*Of course not, calculators didn't exist in 600 BCE. Just like physical cosmology didn't exist in 150 CE or so when "2 Peter" was forged.
Consciousness doesn't reside in one particular part of the brain. Though the seat of consciousness is in the cerebral cortex. Now that's a cute thought. Who says that? Last I heard they can't even find where our consciousness resides in the brain, so they can't know that it's only 5% of the brain.
The AI's 5% answer was about the make up of the physical world we live in when compared to the Universe as a whole. I think one way to look at it is that 95% of the Universe is in a very different reality than what we are living in.Yes it is true, the human conscious mind is only aware of 5% of all thoughts and actions that happen. 95% of your brain, you have no idea about what's going on in there.
