The issue of multiraciality hasn't been mentioned in this thread. If you belong to Race A and a guy belongs to Race A and Race B, is it an interracial relationship?
See, when you use logic, it makes things confusing.
* If the A/B guy dates a girl of Race A, is it dating within his race or dating outside his race?
* If the A/B guy dates a girl of Race B, is it dating within his race or dating outside his race?
* Is it only considered "dating within your race" if the A/B guy dates a girl who is also A/B?
See, this gets really confusing. It kinda reminds me of the ABO blood types. Anyone of type A blood, type B blood, and type O blood can receive O blood. O can only receive O.
Yarrrgh. Confusing issue.
I only bring this up because *I* am biracial. And I don't know if people can tell that I am just by looking at me -- it seems a lot of people are really clueless and bigoted. If I am 50% Race A and 50% Race B, that doesn't mean that I am 100% Race B. It also doesn't mean I am 100% Race A, but TOO MANY people have weak minds and judge me anyways. And this gets really frustrating.
That's kinda vague.People will always just a book by its cover

What if there are red covers and blue covers, but when you mix the two covers, you get a purple cover. OK, so we have this purple book walking around. Do people see this purple book as a red book or a blue book? Or do they see it as BOTH red and blue.
That's what I was going for. People are dumb and subconsciously "choose" one race and are blind to the other.
It's like with Barack Obama. He is White. He is Black. But so many people only see him as Black and don't even have a clue that he is equally another race.![]()
The right answer is no. If you are bi-racial and you date one side of your race, its really not interracial. If you date a person with the same biracial make up it's not interracial.
Society says yes you are dating interracially. In a lot of ways (which is sad) biracial individuals are forced to a take side. The dominant traits is the determinate as to what side is chosen.
Ex. Halle Berry = Black/White. She looks more black therefore her otherside is disregarded. Berry is just black in society's eyes.
Ex. Cameron Diaz = Cuban/White. She looks more white, her cuban side is ignored. Diaz is white in society's eyes.
I really don't like race labeling. I am made up of so many different things but in the end you are one thing or another. It's really not that simple but we just put people in a box and label away!

Taken from dictionary.com :in·ter·ra·cial (ĭn'tər-rā'shəl) Pronunciation KeyI am 'biracial'. I'm black and white. If I date a white girl, that isn't considered 'interracial dating'? I'm not fully white and she would be, so how is that not 'interracial'?
But she isn't black, and I'm half. So am I interracial dating only half way? That would not be interracial for you to date someone white because you are both black/white.
Race is a big factor for me. If she wasn't from the human race I doubt it would work.
Exactly! sort of... you have to read my post again because I did ninja editingBut she isn't black, and I'm half. So am I interracial dating only half way?![]()
