Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Amazing. After only one day, what do I come back to find from you? I find multiple pages of baseless claims and personal attacks directed at me. You really are something. Just who is denigrating whom here?

I also can’t help but notice that not once do you provide any evidence to support your claims or beliefs and you evade every request to do so.

Of course he is ignoring your requests, don't you see what he's saying? He says you've already decided to reject the evidence Christians offer, you're only asking for evidence so you can shoot it down and belittle Christians' beliefs.

For all bystanders, would you be willing to give a summarizing list of the evidence that you feel he has decided to reject?

So you're saying his claimed evidence won't stand up to scrutiny?

But if the conclusions are contradictory only one answer can be correct. If only there were a way to verify which conclusion is correct and which isn't...

When dealing with material things this holds true. That is not the subject under discussion here.

What are you saying? That contradictory non-material things can both be true?

Heh. I guess that clarification might actually need to be made. Let me take a stab at it:

Material things - water either boils at the boiling point of mercury, or at the boiling point of water. Simple right-wrong answer.

Morality, ethics, Scriptural understanding / interpretation and many other things that might be grouped under an umbrella like "Spirituality," or your label of choice -

not so much. Not that outright contradictory things can both be true, but there are seemingly limitless possible takes on many things, all of which can simultaneously be true, or valid, or acceptable ...

I wouldn´t have expected you of all singing the praise of subjectivism.

I don't believe I am. Do you know that, and are intentionally putting words in my mouth? Or does it really seem like that to you because you see no other possibility?
The latter: That´s what your post clearly indicated to me.
Feel free to clarify.

Speaking of contradictory statements...

So, can contradictory, non-material claims be simultaneously true?

Because one is subjective morality and one is objective mathematics. There is a difference between language and reality - links in the former may not exist in the latter.

Because incarcerating someone against their will is in general wrong - unless it's to punish them, then it's generally OK. Two wrongs make a right. because some evils are lesser than others, making them preferable.

Why would it?
OR/
Why would it not?
There is secular morality and there is God's morality.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 56: 8-9

we can treat people who we can see with respect n treat GOD with disarray and

how can we treat each other with no love whom we see daily but loves GOD whom we can not

vice versa ,,,...

The answer regarding the OP is NO.

See:

"A scientific man ought to have no wishes, no affections, -- a mere heart of stone."

- Charles Darwin
