Why would an enemy of God open it?
Curiosity, perhaps. Also most people believe God exists in some form. It's part of God putting eternity in man's heart. The question we all have is " what is this God like?" The gospel answers all men's deepest questions.

Because He makes a good offer, we're made in His image, and still have a yearning for Him.

Sinners have a "yearning" for God like criminals have a yearning for a cop.

"And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil." (John 3:19)

“Perhaps”

That’s really convincing. ;)

I'm sure the answer is different for every person, but at least in this country, one of the main reasons people don't get saved, is because nobody invites them to church. According to a Gallup poll, 75% said they would go if someone invited them. So when we asked the question.. why do people not get saved, we might want to look in the mirror.

I don’t think there’s a single verse in scripture that states where folks should invite others to church. But that’s beside the point.

The bottom line is that you hold to an idea of salvation that’s nowhere to be found in the Bible. When you have to say “perhaps”, that just makes it all the more clear.

Not.

Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him. Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7)

What terrible translation is that?

You prefer NIV?
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

New King james?

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him,

HCSB?
6 Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gratitude.

I'm not seeing much difference.

I don’t suppose that you do.

Cooperation-an act or instance of working or acting together for a common purpose or benefit; joint action.

I know the dictionary definition, but I don't know what this means in a soteriological context. What precisely are you doing that adds to your salvation?

Well we have to believe and continue to believe, we have to abide in Christ, we have to love God and others, basically we have to adhere to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. No one will do this perfectly of course, but they must make an effort to do so.

Exactly how much imperfection is allowed? What's an allowable percentage?

Because God does not force anyone to cooperate which is why He desires all men to repent and be saved but not all men will.

The question I asked is why does God need cooperation. I do not believe God forces anything he is the primary cause of every thing he does not force that would assume a valid resistance can be mounted against His purposes, will, and desires.

Which I do not believe... nothing can stay his hand.

So your need is based on your assertion "God does not force"

In Him,

Bill
