Yes. God the Son worships God the Father. Both are God in the sense of divinity and Trinity but the Father is the Son's God. This is also demonstrated when the scripture speaks of the Father as the head of Christ.

The Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are all one God.
Yet, each person of the Godhead is distinct.
They also each have the capacity to dwell within one another.
For Jesus says He dwells in the Father and vise versa.

But does the Son of God worship God the Father? Uh, no. God does not worship Himself. That wouldn't make any sense.

Consider what the word "God" means; deity, which can be singular and/or plural; Jesus is God singular, the Father is God singular and Jesus and His Father are God plural; Is the Father Jesus's God; didn't Jesus say, "My God, Why have you forsaken me".

Why did Jesus say "My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?"

Well, for one, there is a big difference between making an assertion and asking a question. Secondly, Jesus was referencing Scripture as a fulfillment of prophecy (Psalms 22:1). Thirdly, Jesus also said these words as if it was you and me in His place saying these words. For He was taking on our sins and our punishment.

In fact, when look at Psalms 22, we can see that the response to the first verse where the psalmist cries out the prophetic words, "Why have you forsaken me?" there is an answer in verse 24. Here's the answer to the question of Jesus, the question of the psalmist and the question of every person who has ever felt abandoned by the Father: For he (God the Father) has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

Sin may deafen our ears to the answer, but the reality is that the Father has never and will never despise, disdain or turn His face away from us, forsaking us (if we are seeking His forgiveness). For He has heard our cry for help!

God the Father forsaking His own Son? Impossible! God the Father was "in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself" (2 Corinthians 5:19)! Jesus didn't feel it at the time. It seemed like the Father had forsaken Him, but He hadn't! Nor will He ever forsake you (if you have a broken heart before Him).

But what about the "God cannot look upon sin" part? Doesn't the Bible say that? Well, it does but we need to put that comment in context. It was Habakkuk the prophet who said that as he watched evil people seemingly getting away with their sins. Here's the whole quote in context:

"Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?"*~ (Habakkuk 1:13).

To paraphrase him, Habakkuk said, "Your eyes are too pure to look on evil and you can't tolerate wrong so why are you?" In other words, it made no sense to Habakkuk that God was looking on sin when Habakkuk believed that wasn't possible. He was smearing the face of God with the guilt and shame of humanity the same way Adam had done when he hid himself in the Garden of Eden because He thought God wouldn't want to look at him after he sinned. Adam was wrong. God came for His walk that day just as He had every day. And Habakkuk was wrong too.

But is Jesus God?
Is the Trinity true?

If you believe Scripture, then the answer to both of these questions is a resounding.... "yes."
I provided 160 Biblical reasons in my original post to show how Jesus is God.

...

It makes perfect sense and yes the Son worships the father. How can you not know that?

Luk_4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Joh_20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Rev_3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Only the Bible Mini Series erroneously says, “I shall worship the Lord my God and him only shall I serve."

The Bible does not say that. Jesus is quoting Scripture to worship God. This would not negate the truth He is God and nor would it suggest that He worships the Father.

Well, it does not say worship here and the word God has been used in reference to rulers according to the OT.

And? I never quoted "the Bible Mini Series". Satan wants Jesus to worship him but Jesus responds that he can only worship God proving Jesus does worship his Father.

Scripture doesn't clarify actually what God is, we refer to God as a Godhead meaning 3 in 1.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all equal presence, character and holiness. Yet they are different,
but the share the same divine nature and spirit. That's why Jesus says Me and my father are one.
All are very important for us to and have. It says in John 14:26 the Holy Spirit will be given unto us
by the Father. I say it like this, The Holy Ghost leads us to Jesus and Jesus leads us to the Father.

That was a good lesson on why have you forsaken me, but you missed the point, "does God have a God?" I can see that the trinity doctrine would not allow that. So the real question is, "Does Jesus have a superior in His father?" Simplistically the Bible says Jesus is inferior to His Father, the Father is the authority, Jesus is the teacher and intermediator between man and the Father. Jesus is a God , His Father is a God, and I expect that all in their realm are Gods and collectively these are called God.

The answer is Yes and it doesn't affect that the Trinity is the Father, Son and HS. The Father is the "first person" of the Trinity for a reason :)

I don't think this type of thread is allowed on this part of the forum. But if the mods are allowing it then I might as well give an exhaustive list of reasons why Jesus isn't God.

Since you already know this isn't allowed in the forum why post it anyways? The mods simply haven't noticed this breach of the rules yet. They aren't "allowing it".

You have to be a pretty flexible person to believe something like this. So I commend you for that. I find the trinity to be one of mans greatest inventions. When something doesn't make sense in the trinity you can use the "God can do whatever he wants" card. But God does have his limitations that he set out before the foundation of the world for his benefit as well as ours.

To address your specific point of the father is the first person of the trinity makes it seem as if he is above Christ and the holy spirit? Isn't that your point. A trinity means they are coequal yet you are saying that God is first then the son then the holy spirit as if they are in some kind of pecking order with God being the most powerful then jesus 2nd hs third. Not sure if this is what you mean but it sounds like it.

Yes of course. The members of the Trinity are co-equal, but co-equal in Divinity not authority. Jesus prayed according to the Father's will not his own will because the Father's will is the highest authority.

Luk_22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Joh_14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

So what is the point of all three being God if one has more authority than the other? What does it mean to be God? More authority seems to make the father the greater God of the three. I think thats where the trinity loses people. At least this and a few more parts.

They all have the same will I agree but if one has more authority what does that even mean. Or matter if they all agree the same thing. Then they would all authorize the same thing.

only becomes an issue when you ignore the humanity of christ.
you could just have asked the question, does God feel pain, does He go hungry, etc..?
obviously you'll only get an issue when you look at Jesus as only God.

"Jesus saith unto her,
"Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.""
(John 20:17).

Is Jesus (Who is God) really saying He has a God?
In other words, does God have a God?

Well, in the beginning of the gospel of John, it says this...

John 1:1-2 KJV - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning with God."

In other words, John 20:17 is speaking in a similar way as John 1:1. The Word (Jesus - who is God) was with God the Father.

So when Jesus says... "I ascend unto... my God..." He is acknowledging that He is ascending to the Father who is God in essence in being (as a part of the plurality of the Godhead).

Yet, how can God have a God? Doesn't that imply a possession?
Yes, but Jesus says elsewhere, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30).
Also, when Jesus uses the word "my" in the words "my God" He is also referring to whom He always obeys, too (Sort of like how a loyal servant always obeys His ruling King).

For Jesus says elsewhere, "... for I do always those things that please him." (John 8:29).
Also, when Jesus claimed to be God, and the Pharisees wanted to kill him for it, Jesus quoted Old Testament Scripture that says, "ye are gods." (i.e. gods = kings) as a way of protecting His mission in going to the cross (John 10:34).

Anyways, confusion on this topic arises because people need to know that the Lord our God is one God and yet He also has a plural nature to Him, as well.

For the Bible teaches that there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) (1 Timothy 2:5) (Isaiah 45:5).

Yet, the Bible also teaches that there are distinctions within the Godhead or that there is a plural nature to God.

Here are a couple of quick points:

#1. The word Elohim (אֱלֹהִ֔ים) is both a singular and a plural noun.
#2. God refers to Himself in plural form (Genesis 1:26) (Genesis 3:22) (Genesis 11:7) (Isaiah 6:8).
#3. Plurality of God in New Testament (Matthew 28:19) (2 Corinthians 13:14) (John 14:16-20).
#4. Introductions to both the Son & Holy Spirit (Daniel 7:9,10,13,14) (John 14:16)
#5. Different persons of Godhead appear at one time (Luke 3:21-22)
#6. Distinctions of Wills (Luke 22:42).
#7. Conversations Between the Godhead (Psalm 2:1-12) (Psalm 45:6-7) (Psalm 110:1) (Matthew 11:27) (John 17:24).

However, if anyone here is in doubt that Jesus is God Almighty, here is some Scripture that declares that Jesus is God and that He is the Almighty.

Here is a great article on a list of verses that tell us this.
(See #45 and other numbers below).

There are numerous analogies of unity.

John 15:1 (KJV) I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

In this case God is the vineyard worker who prunes vines was taking out unproductive or less productive branches competing for sunlight and nutrients from the vine. Jesus is the main stem, the leader. The off shoots are connected to the main stem as long as they produce. If they do not produce, they are cut. People may pray for guidance from God about what they should be doing. If they pray for and do the right things, they will be saved.

There is another parable about Jesus being a good shepherd who protects his sheep. Jesus was a person and his disciples were people. The disciples needed Jesus like sheep need a shepherd. Jesus needed God like a son needs a father. Jesus was teaching what he had learned from his father and rose from the dead.
