  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The effects of being disenfranchised are more likely to prevent you from feeling equipped to raise a child.

As far as having sex outside of marriage...I'm sure that crosses all colors and creeds...and religions.

You know, it's funny, today I was working as a clinic escort outside our local Women's Clinic, and I noticed something...the pro life protesters actively sought out every white woman that came in there, less actively sought out the latina women, and completely ignored the black women. What does THAT say?

I think it says that maybe the protesters were simply uncomfortable with approaching the others. Maybe they felt as though they couldn't convince them or something? I seriously doubt that the protesters wanted the minority women to get abortions though. Oh, and just because your experience tells you something about pro-life protesters doesn't mean that all pro-life protesters are like that.

exactly.
This would seriously be an issue of juging by appearance when
Jesus clearly warned us not to judge that way.

So their actions were okay? They didn't want them to get abortions, but they said nothing. I never made the generalization that all pro life protesters are that way, just the ones in my area of the States. But you made the generalization that Planned Parenthood as a whole is racist, which is as untrue as considering all pro life protesters racist. See what I'm getting at?

Margaret Sanger said "We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." The organization of planned parenthood, the people at the top are most definitely racist and are totally into eugenics. Especially at the founding of PP. Clarence Gamble, Margaret Sanger, Lothrop Studdard and others. If you don't think there is an agenda to break up the family then you need to do some reading. The REAL ISSUES of abortion need to be addressed, like funding for women in low income family's and neighborhoods, when you do this it always decreases the number of pregnancy. How to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Those are the issues, not "Pro-Life" and "Pro-Choice" we become way to polarized by these 2 issues that really should bring us toghether to solve a problem. Also I am not Black, and am not a Republican or a Democrat

No, their actions were not okay. They should have gotten out of their comfort zone and spoke to every single person going into that murderous place regardless of whether or not they were comfortable in doing so.

And yes, I made a generalization that Planned Parenthood as a whole is racist and I will continue to do so.

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Original source: Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College, North Hampton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon's Woman's Body, Woman's Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America. New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.

"[Slavs, Latin, and Hebrew immigrants are] human weeds ... a
deadweight of human waste ... [Blacks, soldiers, and Jews are a] menace to
the race."
"Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need ... We must prevent
Multiplication of this bad stock."
-- Margaret Sanger, April 1933 Birth Control Review .

I'm sorry but the evidence that Planned Parenthood is racist is just overwhelming. See the following websites for more information:

BlackGenocide.org | Planned Parenthood

From the above website:

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant. Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a devout racist who created the Negro Project designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society? The founder of Planned Parenthood said, "Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated." Is her vision being fulfilled today?

and.... yet all we have here is your word that that is
what was actually going on.
That and your perception.

Sorry I refuse to sit here in my little corner of judgment to
condemn each one for being racists!

Okay, don't you think it possible that the make up of an organization changes from the 1930s (when those quotes were recorded) to now?

Also, I'm not surprised that minority groups are the biggest users of Planned Parenthood's services (even though I think I link to ewtn.com is not the best source). Why? Minorities are the biggest users of most government assistance programs as well. Does that make the government racist? Also, what you fail to realize is that Planned Parenthood services are not just abortions. Planned Parenthood is one of the top, if not the top, provider of Birth Control and other contraceptives at a drastically reduced rate.

Nadiine: With regard to the protesters at the clinic I volunteer at: I was not trying to paint them all as racists, I was merely showing that the Pro Life movement isn't all shiney happy perfect people either.

Of course it's possible that the organization has changed since the 1930s but I don't believe that it has. I honestly believe that Planned Parenthood is a racist organization. And no, the fact that minorities are the biggest users of most governmnet assistance programs does not make the government racist.

That said, nobody ever said that pro-lifers were perfect.

That said, I am going to protest at an abortion clinic this Thursday. It'll be my first time. :)

I don't know why you feel the need to pray for their safety. We're not going to harm them in any way. To imply that we would is deeply offensive to me.

I don't see how praying for people's safety is wrong.
Of course it's not wrong. Ave Maria is over-reacting or looking for a reason to slap your hand. I'm on the other side of the fence from you on abortion, but I can't see anything wrong with praying for the escorts. If something were to turn violent, unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time.

I don't see how praying for people's safety is wrong. I pray for the safety of my friends and family every day. Escorting is a stressful job, especially with aggressive protesters...I guess I'd include "mental safety" as well.

It's not wrong. I just simply got the impression that you felt that we were going to be violent towards the escorts.

:amen: Amen! However, I'll also pray for the safety of the escorts. I don't want any of them to get hurt or killed. However, I will not pray that they have peace of mind. On the contrary, I will pray that they are convicted for their disgusting sin of aiding in murder. Note that I am not judging the state of their salvation but their actions. That is allowed, the former is not.

No offense, but I pray what I am LED to pray . . I cannot possibly
cover everything & everyone even tho I want nobody in this
entire world to get hurt or killed by anybody else.

If someone wants to pitch a fit that I care more about infants
going to slaughter, then have at it.
