Does God Control Nature ? Poll

I did this somewhere else many years ago and was shocked that most said no. Please comment if you will.

With Hawaii , Guatemala, last years three major US Hurricanes please vote if you believe either God controls these things or it is just some random natural events...Thanks

If God doesn't at least "ordain"/allow all the things you mentioned above to happen, IOW, if He is 'not' in control of all things and things happen in this world w/o His foreknowledge and consent, can He actually be considered "God"

So I looked up the passage you cited. In that verse, Elihu is talking about clouds. It's not the words of God or even of a revered Christian writer like Paul, John or one of the prophets.
But that said, those words do ring true. However, just because God can, and does on occasion control nature, I don't believe there's Biblical precedent for the belief that God is directly involved in manipulating all natural events. I'd say that God's intervention in nature is extremely rare. He has set everything in motion and pretty much turned it over to mankind.
An interesting aspect of that though, is that it seems like humans can influence natural events using God's power. That's a different topic, but very intesting.

So your saying God causes correction in Puerto Rico, but not San Francisco?
What kind of criteria would you suppose God would use in order for His correction to take place?

Did God correct Sodom & Gomorrah, before He corrected them out of existence?

Do we have a period of correction every year along the East Coast, for what reasons, why every year., what about the Monsoons and cyclones over Bangladesh, doesn't seem as though they are listening.

Also in Exodus when God is about to send the plagues He calls them His signs and wonders and if you read Job 32-42 you will see God and Elihu the only one with enough of God's wisdom to answer Job. Thanks for reply

all my wonders , what we call devastation , Job 2-31 wanted to reason with God about His punishment since he was good, upright and perfect and yet look at what happened

There is no doubt that the Bible writers thought that God micromanaged the universe.

The Bible writers know that He is capable of micro-managing, and indeed all things hold together and have thier being in Him.

Nevertheless the fact the He created humanity as He did demonstrates that He is more than willing to sit back and allow many things to fall beyond His direct control in the name of a greater purpose.
