Does anyone use chat lines?

This is a strange question-does anyone use the free voice personals such as Lavalife? I have tried it with no luck-get men 800 miles away, different race (I am not racist but am only attracted to white men). I would be interested to know if anyone has had any luck. I had a personal on Craigslist for a while with no luck but can't look at Craigslist personals because of the internet filter I had put on (and am sort of glad-we had a christian couple here in GA go to supposedly buy a used Mustang from a man and he ended up shooting them both in the head and killing them-robbery was the motive-he didn't even have the car)!

Something I'm having trouble getting used to here is the banks are so stone age, everyone has to carry cash because electronic payments are dang near impossible. I've spent a week and a half trying to pay a relative a small amount of money through the person to person account. And to pay a company I had to pay for an electronic wire. I think when they finally get the banks working right there will be a fewer people killed for robbery. That is a priority but everyone seems to be saying that if there were decent banking system the government would be robbing everyone. That doesn't make any sense because there are plenty of electronic ways to avoid paying tax.

I guess it is both the guns and the useless banks that make this a scary country. Thanks for the warning.

Hi Guys! I posted a thread about meeting dates on voice personals. The Lord can use ANY method to bring you a potential mate. I have been chatting with a divorced christian dude named Gary who works for Lockheed-Martin (airplane Manufacturer) here in GA. He makes 70K (80K with overtime yearly-I make 53K), is taller than me with a full set of blonde hair. He has been divorced about 23 years and told the Lord he would like to be married again but if that is not God's will he would accept it. We are going to go to a dinner/dance club halfway between our homes Thursday (I am on vac this week) to meet in the flesh. When I was a little girl I used to pretend my future husband's name was Gary (could it have been a sign)? He seems like a really good potential and if we start dating I can stay in my old church where all my friends are. God is so good! NEVER give up and just keep praying, standing in faith, etc!

This guy is really nice! We have talked several hours daily for 3 days-meeting in person Saturday. He bought a refurbished red 64 mustang on Tuesday off of Craigslist (has a 66 red must and a red Nova also)! He was going to buy some land but decided against it. He says he could retire now but wants to work 3 more years. If we married between my income and his we could live pretty nicely! But of course my main criteria is first he is born again and loves the Lord first and then would love/respect/not abuse me second. He also lives in a house so no more apartment if we married! I would have the money to keep my clothes up, get my Saturn refurbished-needs painting, rattles, power windows and sunroof don't work, seats need re-doing. This man has met all the criteria I was asking the Lord for! We will see what happens!

My thought would be that a chat line is usually (steflou64's case is the 'exception') not a good idea. Someone can definitely be who they are not easily in that mode. You could fall in love with someone who is not anything like they see themselves to be. I find most people are not so much bad people, but they have convinced themselves they are something they are not.
