  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone miss it?

I am not out of high school yet but I will be in about 2 1/2 months. I know that I am going to miss it. I am going to miss all of my friends and people that I talk with! I am going to miss how close most of us are and the small community feeling we have because of being in a small town. This is the town I was raised in! We have all went through so much together. In one way I am soo excited to get out and be in a huge city ( i will be ) but I am absolutly terrified. I will have to gain lots of independence that is for sure.

Mostly, I will miss my two best best friends. They have been my friends basically since birth and I don't know how we are going to be able to say bye. I am getting tears thinking about it!!
I hear ya on that.. grew up in a small city, lived there my whole life. After high school, moved down to Los Angeles for college. Talk about busy city. It's tough to jump from having a bunch of close friends all over town to having millions of people and you dont know a single one.

Good luck. You'll adapt to it. I love it down here now. hehe. :sorry:

I was exactly like that when I was about to graduate. I went to a tiny high school, like my class was only 80 people, and I had been going to school with them since junior high. So you kinda get to know everyone, lol. It will kinda suck at first, but give it a couple of months, and you'll realize how much fun being out of high school is:thumbsup:

Im only in college and not working full time or anything....

But I defenitely miss all the free time I had in highschool. It was awesome. I would get up at 6:30 every day, be at school at 7:15, be able to hang out with friends for the next 7 hours and then I had the whole rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. Could stay up till 2 am and had someone drag me out of bed in the morning so it didnt matter how tired I was. Got to sleep through half my classes..... Cruise in my minivan(ther perfect tailgating vehicle!) and just kind of relax the entire time.

David, I hope you're talking about the dub-bus.. because as far as I remember.. minivans were never accepted. Maybe that was just around my parts though. I mean, if you had a minivan.. you purposely parked a block away and walked.

^_^ But yeah man.. I hear ya. High school was so relaxed. It was so fun. I do miss all those fun times with friends.

The dub-bus is a recent aqusition. In highschool I rocked a 94 dodge caravan and I must say I really did like it. Wasnt the coolest looking thing but it had seatbelts for 7 and could easily take that many people. Pull the back seat and we could fit 5 with 3 bikes inside and 2 on the back. Or go to the beach, open the hatch and pull the back seat out, turn on the radio and now we have comfy seating and music wherever we are.

No I do not miss high school and I do not miss college.
In fact I am happy that I am now 25 and out in the real world.
You could not pay me to be 19 again.
Most people who are high school and college age seem shallow and all they want to do is party.
I am serious about my life and career, and it was hard to find others like me, when I was younger.
Now that I am 25, it is easier to find more people who are serious about their lives.
I feel that most people my age are past that whole "party/fad stage."
High school is brutal and college is an extension of high school in my opinion.

TOTALLY!!

Id love to go back to say - 16 years old and redo high school. Be more outgoing, join everything i could. party. I was a real shy book worm in high school and same for college, I missed out. Life was so simple and i was sheltered from harsh world. It;s like that nickelback song,, "Too hard to stay, but to hard to leave it"

anyone invented time machine yet? :(

I live rent-free at home, but I still wish I was back in high school. :D Life is great now, but I miss the friendship and community of my high school.

I was really lucky, I guess...

Cliques totally broke down after Grade 9 in my year group and I can honestly say that I was friends with everyone in my grade by Grade 11. (We still all catch up and have bbq's, but I miss the amazing community of lunch times and camps.)
The teachers were also amazing Christians and some of my best Christian role models were my teachers, who discipled me and encouraged me in leadership and my walk with God.
I went through high school with my three best friends (who I still absolutely love) and they've been the most incredible spiritual encouragements in my life (and still are.)

I guess I should say 'blessed' actually...

I love where I am in life at the moment (and I'm thankful for my parents who don't charge me board ;)) but I also miss the comfort and security of day-to-day life with people who also love Christ.
