Her christmas message to the "People of Islam?"

What do I think of Ann Coulter?

Prime example of what I was saying now who here is going to defend her positing such trash. Why would anyone like that sort of person. Do you think she has friends?

Harsh would be an understatement Suzy. She is like coarse sandpaper.

It was on her website over christmas. Let me see if I can find it.

edited to add:

It appears it is no longer on there. However, the freepers were laughing about it:

It was all over message boards. I don't think all these people would make it up:

This quote makes a lot more sense in light of one of her previous comments:

Yeah, well. Good thing she doesn't make DOCUMENTARIES then, eh? Like I said, I'm no huge fan, but I don't think she's all THAT bad when you stack her against some pretty nasty low-blows that have come from the mouths of some "bad apples" in the liberal world this past year, either.

Examples? Some we've hammered out before on CF, but I have to say my all-time favorite (as you know, Mhatten) was the attack on Condi Rice as an "Aunt Jemima" (and from a white male???). That's about the lowest I've ever seen - attacking someone's race because she doesn't fit your politics. Despicable.

It all goes back to your earlier post - there's lack of civility on BOTH sides.

the person who made the comment about Condi Rice was white LIBERAL male from dane county Wisconsin. He was reffering to the way she is showboated around the white house. But they failed to mention anypart of the rest or the conversation, Michael Moore is well.. Just Michael moore.people take him for face value nothing more. Ann coulter on the other hand tries to win arguments using fact so riddled with opinion its absurd. wheras moore is simply making movies.....

Every one of Al Franken's books has ruled the Bestseller list. Jon Stewart's book, too. Even Dennis Rodman's.

Somehow I doubt that the Bestseller list is overly indicative of whom people are "listening to."

I've read some of Ann's stuff and I agree that she can be a bit scathing to those of different ideologies, but that's part of the charm of her in my opinion. She's not afraid to offend someone by saying what she thinks and not pulling her punches. A trait that is, unfortunately (In my opinion), all but gone in today's PC-oriented media. Reading her stuff is entertaining and at times quite funny.

Do I agree with everything she says? No. But do I think it's good that she ruffles feathers and stirs up thought and controversy with her books and articles? Yes. We need more writers like that on all the hues of the political spectrum. It certainly would get more folks into what goes on politically in this country.
Sometimes all it takes is ****ing people off.

However, to answer the question in the OP, "is anyone listening to Ann Coulter anymore"? Um, considering her "How To Talk To a Liberal...If You Must" book is still on the TOP TEN of the NY Times Bestseller List, apparently MANY people are listening to her.

it's for entertainment purposes only... By the way Alan colmes isnt even close to being half as annoying or absurd then Ann Coulter her name alone is annoying...

Thanks for clearing that up. Since a liberal white male is the one who called Condi an Aunt Jemimah, we shouldn't take it in a bad way. I see your point.

hey ANN,
" we should invade your home, put you in straight jacket and medicate you with valium"....as your obviously suffering from a multitude of mental dis-orders.... look at the hypocrisy in her statement.. to use the word kill and christianity is not only absurd but wrong on so many different levels.

Your point appeared to be that racial slurs by LIBERAL males are acceptable. I can't see any other way to interpret your statement. Maybe you would like to retract it or clarify it.

That quote is commonly used against Coulter, but from what I've read, it was taken out of context.

I believe she was speaking as a 'what if' scenario toward the actions of extremist Muslims.
A "What if we acted like they do?" kinda thing.

And even if that wasn't the case... look at the date she made the comment. Hell, I was ****ed off enough to say the same thing too.

it seems like a very cit and dry statement to me.. tell me how you can take a statement that full of hate and call's for violence out of context?

Around Sept. 11th I was not yet upset, I still was full of deep sadness and sympathy for those who lost their lives, I also suprised on how Americas actions on the world stage could indoctrinate someone with enough hate to die in such a horrific act of suicide and vengence.
