The question is does it need to be rebuild before Jesus returns. I'm just asking if you are referencing the rapture or the second coming.
Not sure what you mean........

There's a time where He comes to take His people prior to judging the earth and a time He comes back to complete the judgment and set up His kingdom. I'm just asking which one you are referencing.

So what is your answer to the OP? I didn't mention anything about a "rapture"......

No ... and it will not be rebuilt. If it were to, animal sacrifices would resume and Jesus was the last and final sacrifice.

Hebrews 10

8In the passage above He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor did You delight in them” (although they are required by the Law). 9Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all

When Jesus left the temple for the last time He said.

Matthew 23
37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling! 38Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. ”

Notice He says YOUR house. And the look at what happened in their house/temple ... (at His crucifixion) and then what eventually happed ... the temple destroyed and eventually the sacrifices ceased.

The real temple and the sanctuary to pay attention to is in Heaven and always Has been.

Act 17

24The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands. 25Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

Hebrews 9:11

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;

Hebrews

Revelation 11:19

And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

God Bless.

I didn't know it was such a big deal to ask about clarification to your question. Sorry I wasted your time and that you've wasted mine. I'll leave you to your thread.

Most scholars agree this event happened in Luke 21 was fulfilled in 70 ad.
The Temple was standing.......

Luke 21:
5 And certain saying about the temple, that with goodly stones and devoted things it hath been adorned, he said,
20 'And when ye may see Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then know that come nigh did her desolation;

Here is John measuring the Sanctuary/Temple, so is that in place before or after the "rapture" and 2 witnesses and 2nd coming?.....

Revelation 11:
1 And there was given to me a reed like to a rod, and the messenger stood, saying, 'Rise! and measure! the Sanctuary of God, and the altar, and those worshiping in it;
2 and the court that is without the Sanctuary cast out outside, and thou mayest not measure it,
because it was given to the nations, and the holy City they shall tread down forty-two months;

The only "rapture" that happens is the 1st resurrection.

The Return of the Lord

1 Thessalonians 4
13Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.

15By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. 17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.

18Therefore encourage one another with these words.

I voted "other" there's not a reason an elaborate building is needed. Could be as simple as a tent. There will be a place for the AC to proclaim himself above God. A place to set the "image of the beast" that speaks. Leaving the outer court out leaves plenty of room on the Temple mount today

There is no reason at all to believe there will be a third temple.

How can a Jewish temple be called a sanctuary when they rejected God?

How can a Jewish temple be called a sanctuary when they rejected God?
Because the new Temple won't be Jewish.
God's faithful people from every tribe, race, nation and language; His born again Christians will build it. Zechariah 6:15
Isaiah 56:1-8, describes the true people of God and how they will make offerings in the Temple.
