I used to use my local library quite frequently as a child, but I've somehow managed to stop now. I don't really know what happened. I guess uni happened, hehe. I see a lot of kids there now, it makes me so happy to see kids reading.

On Sundays my local library opens at 1 or 2pm, and there's always a bunch of kids and their parents waiting outside. It's just so cool! I love seeing kids read.

I can't stand the feel of a book that's been touched by a thousand different people. Something about the cover being of a damp, waxy, icky feel makes me utterly repulsed to read anything in the library but the research books required for school.
No one can touch my books. I ruined a book by myself making the cover peculiar feeling (don't buy Penguin Classics - their books are particularly prone), and so I ripped off the cover. Looks like a stripped book, so I don't bring it to school like I do with my other nice ones. :|
All the books that I read on my own are from the bookstore. :sorry:

Hooray for the library! I started using the public library again when I finished grad school and started working there (I'm a reference librarian); now most of the books I read are from there. There are certain books that I have to buy if I want to read them (esp. old paperback scifi/fantasy stuff), because the library's collection development policy doesn't allow for the purchase of used books.

We have a great public Library and we use our(my husband and I) Library cards on a weekly bases. We read a lot and if we had to buy all the books we read it would cost a fortune. We have begun going Bi-Weekly since it became winter, seems like this winter is going to be harsh.

All the time! It was alot easier when we lived in town, though. If I was late coming home from work, my wife always knew I'd walk in with armful of new FREE books!

It's not the same now that we live 30 miles outside of town...but I still always manage to have a few library books around.

I don't go to the libray. I don't like touching second-hand books--who knows where the hands of the people who borrowed those books have been.

hmm good point...but.....same thing goes for money if you think about it...i still use that though
