I think sometimes these websites are a scam because I think they're just using the website just to get someone to Cyberstalk someone and find their personal info. It can ruin someone's relationships with people, get their friends to cuss them out and call them names, call the police on them, send them negative messages, block them everywhere, tell their friends and family about it, to get them to ignore someone and never want to talk to them ever again.



So i don't know why these people are using those websites. Now i'm starting to stay away from these people-searching websites because i don't want any negative remarks from other people and so I'm giving people some space so they can be happy, come around and talk to me. Some people block me on Social media, so I don't have to make another profile to add them and talk to them. I can just give them space and leave them alone. I'll just talk to them in person like everyone else. I think these websites can ruin someone's life

I'm not familiar with most of the ones you posted, but the few I have used are scams in the sense that they give you so much info about someone and then try to suck you in to paying for more detailed info. As far as their being dangerous, I think FB is more dangerous than any of the ones I've tried. FB has certainly ruined people's lives.

They are all for-profit. And mostly use publically available information for their reports. And they mostly harvest information (names, addresses, emails, phones, credit cards, relationships, jobs) also.... and get paid for it.

Just because you can find someone's phone number or e-mail address online doesn't mean it would be appropriate to call them or e-mail them. They haven't necessarily given the information freely and even if it is public information like work/business e-mail or office address it still wouldn't be appropriate to call or message them out of the blue. Generally people will give you their details if they want you to contact them. Adding them on social media is probably okay because they can always say no. Probably best not to send too many private messages or leave too many comments when it comes to new friends and acquaintances. You are right that if someone blocks you on social media you must respect that and leave them alone.

These sites are not scams. They are for the less adept on the internet to be able to find personal information about another person, or themselves, in one place. These sites gather all your personal info from public sites and place them in one location so you do have to search all over yourself.......And for their trouble and your lack of it, you have to pay them.

I say it is a good business plan targeting the stalkers among us. When the stalkers die out, so will the sites.

i get their info from the web like from spokeo or people smart because sometimes I never get a chance to have long conversations with them and I didn't really know them that well since i met them in summer 2014. I know some details about them because i asked them. i'll make sure to ask for their info from them instead of looking for their personal info on the web

Good call. Asking them is much better. Just make sure to ask them directly and be ok with however much information they decide to give you. Sometimes I feel strange if someone finds my info on the web, since it seems like they are looking up information about me behind my back. I may even feel that way if it is a friend searching me!

I personally don't recommend searching for yourself or anyone close to you. While I cannot speak to how each individual site operates, it seems trivial to literally start building entries on your site from searches of names and contact information that is entered by a given user.

i'll stay away from those websites as much as I can so I can have better relationships with people and spend more time with them when I see them at Church
