Yes, I think what I'm trying to point out is it's difficult to tell if the snoring is a person's baseline, I mean, I can check his mental stats or O2saturations when he is awake, but even then the carbon dioxide levels could be out of wack. But for some, they snore, and it doesnt affect them. One time, I had a pt who was snoring loudly, an ICU nurse passed by his room, was worried, but throughout his stay he was fine, arterial blood gases okay, O2sats okay, but there was one instance with a pt who woke up and orientation was off, checked O2sats was okay 95% up, but upon blood gas drawn, CO2 levels sky rocketed, then MD placed pt on BiPap, levels eased down, eventually pt was back being alert oriented x3 to 4.
