Yes the circus was great. I have already shared in a previous post that I used to watch as they constructed the bigtop using elephants to do some of the work. I always wanted to help but alas was too small at the time. I loved the circus.

Hi Angelwind, God bless you today. It has been years for me since I went to a full circus, but they were very popular when I was a kid.

But, two years ago in the Palm Springs area when we were motorhoming..we went to a huge date festival where they had many performances in various tents including one in which there was an animal trainer and beautiful white tigers. All in a huge caged area (from our bleachers), but the whites were just gorgeous and very well behaved. So much so that people were having their pictures taken with them and the trainer. Not me, however.

I remember when I was a little girl having my Dr. come to my house. This wasn't a normal thing so I must have been very sick....back when Drs. still made house calls! I remember thinking that I wasn't safe from seeing my Dr. even in my own home! Now, wouldn't it be wonderful if they did make house calls?

When I was about 4 or 5 the doctor came to our house and removed the tonsils of me and my brother. He went first and I was terrified!! I do remember enjoying the smooth slippery jello and how good it felt but I still remember and dread the scent of ether that put us to sleep on the dining table! Sounds like something from a horror movie but it was common.
Even when grown and when my kids were small the doctor came to the house when I had a severe throat infection and treated me!
Hey, perhaps thats what attracted me to be a visiting nurse!! LOL

Putting me to sleep on the dining table wouldn't bother me as much as having leeches attached to my extremities. Thankful for antibiotics

I wanted to tell you birdie...I have a roosting hummingbird...it has made a nest on the topper of a small windchime that hangs outside my kitchen window. I saw the hen in the nest yesterday.

Good to see you back, McWilliams. The doctor came to our house to deliver me, but he had a nurse with him to help. Mother wrote in my baby book that when I was born the nurse said..is she Irish or German? Mom was German and Dad was Irish. I was born at home and that was the norm for most births those days. Not sure how it went with tonsils then cause still have mine.

But serioulsy, I found it on the web so birdie could see a nest. I hadn't actually seen one close up myself. Isn't it tiny!!??
