I do remember the old tv's being so fuzzy ( it's a wonder we all did not have to have glasses before we were 7, watching Howdy Dowdy

Ozzie and Harriett , one of the best
Yeah and Ricky was the cutest . . .
How funny... and very clever. I used to be so self satisfied when I stayed up long enough to hear the National Anthem when the TV station signed off for the night. MY MY how things have changed!!I should like to say I remember the 60's better than I do the 30's.
I still hear that deep voice over the British radio: "This is the BBC, London,,,,and now the news........How ominous it was. I don't kow if it was by design or not, but radio and early telly came on the air in line with pub openings and closing.
One thing I do remember from the 50's is when the country singer, Hank Snow, introduced a new song whilst in Korea, I'm Movin' On. This became a code word when we were changing locations. We are going to pull a Hank Snow....
Cheers,
Jim
Well, I'm new to the 50+ forum and just recently became old enough to be here.
I can't remember Howdy Doody, although I've heard of it. I do remember the old Captain Kangeroo from the early to mid 60's, and Sky King, and Fireball XL5. And there was Miss Barbara and her romper room. I think there was a version of her all over the county (USA).
Welcome, sister! Love to see new faces in GE!
Nice to be here.
