Did any of you girls make and give away friendship pins? They were safety pins with beads strung on them and we'd pin them to our shoelaces. Some people had a "getting along=right foot; fighting=left foot" rule. Maybe this was a Minnesota thing.

We did!! I don't remember the right vs. left thing, but I'm sure we had some silly rules that went with them. I'm in Texas BTW.

Oh yes! I remember friendship pins. Also, those nifty purses with the wooden handles.

Do you remember the first CD you bought?

My friend gave me Genesis - Invisible Touch
My Dad gave me Merle Haggard - Out Among The Stars
Then I bought Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
I didn't get into the CD thing right away but I do remember my first record, it was "New kid in town" by the eagles. I can't remember what was on the flip side, it was just a single.

That's cool. I specifically remember sitting in a multi-school choir rehearsal in 2nd grade or something... it was a huge concert thing. The teachers gave us graham crackers to munch on, and construction paper to poke holes in, almost like a dot-to-dot picture, but hand-sewing with yarn.

Lite Brite,
I wonder if they still make those things. course I would never buy one, my kids would have it scattered from here to the neighbors before they figured out what it was for.
