I remember watching a Penn And Teller episode where they exposed recycle.. a lot of recycling is apparently pointless.. because the process of recycling is about as wasteful as the products they reuse.

Apparently scientists have created a new enzyme that literally eats away plastics. And they have engineered it even more to eat plastics even faster. My question is: If this new thing can eat away plastics what else can it destroy.

Sure, in a way. I sell recycled classic car parts for a hobby. Have several hundred old cars for parts.

Michigan has $.10 per bottle returned, so most people here recycle. It's a good incentive.

Over here it's $0.10 for any beverage container under one liter and $0.25 for over one liter. There are people in my town who make a living off of collecting bottles. Spring tends to be especially fruitful with all the snow melting.

Yep same here. People freak out if you accidentally throw a bottle away lol

Yup,My whole family recycles plastic.

I recycle. I put everything into a plastic bag which gets collected once a week, on the same day as the rubbish (by different people).

Yup. The town picks up my home recyclables every other week, and I use the recycling bins at work.

The city I live in offers separate trash bins that people can use for papers and plastics. It's a pretty cool service.
