From God's point of view, the sin nature is covered by the blood of Jesus.
Nobody ever claims the sin is gone or even faded.
But the blood of Jesus covers all your sin nature, your continued rebellion, and your mistakes.

You can't tell me that Born Again Christians stop having car accidents killing carloads of people
or that the texting they do while driving is no longer a sin against God and humanity.

If that is all you see that the blood of Jesus accomplished, you might as well still kill bulls and goats. What about "takes away" don't you understand?

That is by association. In other words, if I seek to be justified in Christ so as to have eternal life, but willfully continue in sin, does my continuing in sin make Christ a minister of sin. Absolutely not. A Christian doesn't sin, so that's all on you, babe. If Christ actually lived in you, you wouldn't be sinning and putting Christ in a bad light. That is what the Jews did.

But it is not by our power we cannot sin. We don't have to struggle to be good enough. When Christ puts His Spirit in us, making us born again, it is like putting the energizer bunny in you. The things you couldn't do on your own (like being righteous) the energizer bunny does through you.

Here is what Jesus teaches about what a person must do in order for Him to approve him/her to inherit eternal life:

A person must strive to keep God's commandments until he/she dies if he/she wants to be approved by Jesus to inherit/enter eternal life.

Simply believing that Jesus will save you will not get you approved to inherit/enter eternal life.

8 But you (Christians) yourselves wrong and defraud, and that even your own brethren. 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? But the claim is that these ones NEVER sin because they CANNOT sin. You seem to be contradicting that premise. Which is it? Do these never sin, or just occasionally, but not a lot?

But you have stated repeatedly that a true believer CANNOT sin. That would include accidentally. The verse you quote to prove this is 1 John 3:9. This verse states that the reason you CANNOT sin is because you are born of God and the seed of God is in you. Therefore you cannot sin any more than God can sin. Sin is not in you. You cannot sin any more than a good tree can put forth evil fruit.
It is not that I do not see an element of truth in what you are saying... but you seem to be contradicting yourself. If a believer cannot sin... and you are capable of sin accidentally, intentionally, habitually, or even once ... then you must not be a believer.
I am sorry... it is just confusing, and the Spirit is not in the confusion business.

Why is this verse just before 1 John 3:9 just sort of passed over...
1 John 3:
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

This is the same logic that is being used regarding sin. If you perform an act of righteousness... just ONE act of righteousness, then you are righteous as He is righteous. Jesus taught that an evil tree cannot put forth good fruit. If you are not born again, then even the good things you do are evil, because they come from an evil source. This verse speaks of people who have the ability to do genuine acts of righteousness. So if we are to follow your interpretation of 1 John 3, we will have to conclude that everyone who has ever performed a genuine act of righteousness is born of God and is righteous.
Of course my contention throughout is that John and Jesus are speaking about our spirit, not our flesh or mind. It is your spirit that cannot sin because that is the only part of you that is born of God. If your body leads you into sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus our Lord. I think most people reading this thread will understand this, and have called on our Advocate many many times. I know I have.

There is essentially no difference between what is being presented here and the law.
Under that law you are lost because of a single sin.
Under this brand of "Christianity" you are lost because of a single sin.
You may as well take Jesus, his sacrifice, and His blood out of the equation. It is meaningless. It is good until the first time you sin... and you are lost again, with no more sacrifice for you sin. In the end, it is still the law, obedience to the law, and righteousness that is by the law.
In fact Christians would seem to have it worse than the OT faithful. At least they were counted as righteous if they walked in faith and they could have their sins forgiven if the did those things prescribed in the law. Apparently we do not even have that! Better off being a Jew who gets his sins forgiven than a Christian who does not!
But we know that our righteousness and salvation is not so fragile and that His faithfulness keeps us.

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

And from that point on, if we sin, we can go to the Advocate, our Lord Jesus Christ, and He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

That is the gospel.

We have authority to heal the sick (Mark 16:18). We are no longer willful sinners. (1 John 3:9) We are begotten of God (1 John 3:9) We are righteous (1 John 3:7). We are called children of God (1 John 3:1).

The only church I've attended regularly did not use bibles much, so they are not my church of choice. And all my connections back top both grand parents are from that church, so I have been in a void as to any church to join.
