CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's far too hard to deal with right now. I either want a woman who is genuinely interested in me and I in her, or no feelings for the friends I have. I'm sick and tired of being attracted to someone every time I turn around and getting my hopes up.
So for right now, I'm done. I'm sure there will come a time when, to quote Harrison Ford, "I want to complicate my life. I wanna complicate the heck out of it", but right now, I just want to isolate myself from emotion.

that's interesting. i would like to know how two people go straight into genuine care and desire without a crush happening first. i've had quite a few relationships where the two of us just jump head first into a supposed "genuine relation". it never worked for me. i miss crushes. that's how i hope my next relationship starts. a crush and then goes to more instead of doing things backwards.

So... I have a crush that's kind of been there for the last 4 years or so, but because I had no encouragement from him, the crush would kind of seep into the background... Well, it's coming back again...

You know, I was told that the other day from my friend Bryan. It was followed by, "It's an endearing awkwardness, though. You embrace other's awkwardnesses and let them feel un-awkward when they're really awkward too. It's kinda cute"
I don't take much from the last statement... because he's my Bro, you know? My brotha from anotha motha. I could never date him. But now my friend Debs is convinced that he has a crush on me.
While I'm hoping that when I close my eyes tonight, my wedding dream picks up where it left off...cause he was pretty dreamy...no pun intended.

I have a friend like that. People would often think we're dating, but we're just really close. I wouldn't have it any other way, but I will admit I liked her when we first met. (It was reciprocal too..)

I actually have a lot of really close guy friends who people are questioning whether or not we're dating. *shrug* I feel like I have always needed a bunch of brothers in my life guiding me the way I should go, telling me the truth, and being brutally honest instead of playing around the lines of hinting and backbiting...and God gave me that gift when I got to this college
. I have had no romantic feelings towards any of them so far [amazing :o] and I have a feeling that will _never_ happen towards any of them. I feel as if that's why we're so close... we know nothing will ever happen towards us...

Socially awkward scale? lol, you'll have to define that. Mine is the typical way, when out and about I won't say much around people I don't know well or don't feel comfortable being around. I'm quite new to the term. (Thanks to this forum, actually) I think I'm guilty of friend-zoning someone actually. But typically it's not my fault because I'm usually oblivious to any attention I may get from the opposite sex.
