Actually, Jesus did have a half brother (by Mary and Joseph)
You misunderstand me -- AV is whining about being insulted -- I find it hard to consider them "insults" if the offensive statements are in fact true.
Tis true...especially between the RCC, EOC and ProtestantsActually that isn't true.
The idea that Mary had other children is very controversial..
Just to make sure I'm clear, I'm talking about the mother of Jesus. How many other children did she have? and Where are their decendants?
Is there any historical documents that suggest the answer?
Do you consider the Bible to be an historical document?
He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly His mother and brothers were standing outside wanting to speak to Him. Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” [Matthew 12:46-47]
Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother called Mary, and His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? [Matthew 13:55]
Nails nailed it with scripure.
How is it controversial? She was married to Joseph after Christ was born, and they were a normal married couple. She had other sons; James, Joses, Simon and Judas as well as at least TWO sisters; one named Salome. This isn't a problem unless you make up doctrine and say that Mary and Joseph were never a real married couple. There is no support for that premise in the Scriptures.Actually that isn't true. The idea that Mary had other children is very controversial. It isn't really something that's fair to just assume in conversation.
I am strictly "SOLO SCRIPTURA"Yes, well, amazingly not all of us believe in sola scriptura.

Solo scriptura is, according to Mathison, an unbiblical position; proponents of sola scriptura should uphold the claim that Scripture is the only infallible authority, but should repudiate any position according to which individual Christians are the ultimate arbiters of Scriptural truth. In this article we argue that there is no principled difference between sola scriptura and solo scriptura with respect to the holder of ultimate interpretive authority, and that a return to apostolic succession is the only way to avoid the untoward consequences to which both solo scriptura and sola scriptura lead."

I'm quite serious.
What language do you think Adam wrote (or spoke)?
In your opinion?
That is correct. It was written by James the Just. Was he the brother of Christ? Clearly, if he was, then he rejected any notion that Jesus was the son of God when Jesus came to Galilee. The inability of Jesus' family to grasp who He was was not lost on Him.
I don't think Adam as described in the Bible existed....
However, if you think this person lived in 4000BC, he certainly did not speak English.
Modern English has only existed a few hundred years, if you went back to the 1300s and tried speaking to people in English, they would not be able to understand a thing you were saying.
So, even if Adam existed, he definitely did not speak English.
Then it doesn't matter to you what language someone says he spoke, does it?I don't think Adam as described in the Bible existed....
You were there? However, if you think this person lived in 4000BC, he certainly did not speak English.
Jacobean English disappeared at the Tower of Babel.Modern English has only existed a few hundred years,
I disagree. So, even if Adam existed, he definitely did not speak English.
Wrong. You stole my thunder, I was waiting to see if AV could figure that out.
Most historians claim, english has been around for between 700-1400 years, so if an Adam existed (which I don't believe he did), writing in english would have been impossible.
AV1611VET said:Wrong.
English was spoken up until the Tower of Babel incident, when it suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth.
Guess how?
Then it doesn't matter to you what language someone says he spoke, does it?
You were there?
Jacobean English disappeared at the Tower of Babel.
It then began a slow comeback until it culminated in the 17th century; just long enough to produce the King James Bible.
I disagree.
The Sumerians came from Noah's great grandson in Genesis 10. How then did Adam write Genesis 1 & 2?The Sumerians developed the first scripts?
God says otherwise in Luke 16 -- but that aside, I don't deal in evidence.Unlike you, I am open to the possibility that I might be wrong if you can show evidence.

Moses didn't write the book of Genesis -- he translated it.He didn't. Moses is thought of as the writer of the Torah (first five books)
