Yes. I don't look to myself for assurance, I look to the perfect finished work of Christ. I am saved by the righteousness of Christ, not my own. I will trust in the shed blood of Christ alone for my salvation, and none of my own virtue.

That and I have a real, day-to-day relationship with God and he has moved powerfully in my life many times. I've even fallen into sin and tried to run away, and he always disciplines me and brings me back to repentance. Throughout so many pitfalls and so many trials, and so much hardship, my faith has endured and is stronger now than ever. My faith itself is truly a gift of God.

After everything I've been through since I was born-again I have more assurance now than ever before. If I wasn't saved I'd still be slingin' coke and chasin' money and probably would be either dead or in prison right now.

The question everyone must answer is if they love God in there heart. A person can not love God with out having Jesus and being saved. So Yes I am saved, took me a long time to understand that, and there are days i struggle. I still am Amazed that God saved such a wretched soul as me.

Why put a requirement on salvation that you give no Scriptural reference for? On what basis do you make such a statement?

If you believed in Christ...you are saved (yes, it's that easy)...if you do not, you are not saved (and God is increasingly angry with you each day).

The Lord Jesus wasn't teaching that we can do such a thing but showing that we can't. No need to retract my statement. You put a requirement on salvation that you did not back up by the Scriptures. It is on you to show why your statement is Biblical. Nowhere in the New Testament is it ever taught that we must love God to be saved but that we must believe on Christ. Love for God is not evidence of salvation nor a requirement but a natural and undeniable fruit of a person who is born of God. Gal. 5:22

All believers love their Master but we cannot base our assurance on such an insufficient emotion. We have assurance because He cannot lie. Assurance comes from nothing in the believer but in the veracity of the Savior.

Even Judas Ischariot can love Jesus....hey Jesus gave him the financial matters of his ministry and he stole the money. But we know Judas Ischariot was not saved cause he DID NOT believe.

Bible also says that the saved cannot go on sinning, for they are born of God (1 John 3 and 5)

WHat I said is a person can not Love God with out Jesus in their heart. You are reading things which are not there. But now I will put a requirement. No Man can Be saved if He does not Love God, You can not hate God and be saved to. Not my requirement but God's and who would debate such a thing any way.
