The question everyone must answer is if they love God in there heart. A person can not love God with out having Jesus and being saved. So Yes I am saved, took me a long time to understand that, and there are days i struggle. I still am Amazed that God saved such a wretched soul as me.

Why put a requirement on salvation that you give no Scriptural reference for? On what basis do you make such a statement?
The Lord Jesus wasn't teaching that we can do such a thing but showing that we can't. No need to retract my statement. You put a requirement on salvation that you did not back up by the Scriptures. It is on you to show why your statement is Biblical. Nowhere in the New Testament is it ever taught that we must love God to be saved but that we must believe on Christ. Love for God is not evidence of salvation nor a requirement but a natural and undeniable fruit of a person who is born of God. Gal. 5:22No scriptural evidence. ever hear of the greatest commandment Love God with all you are. Care to retract your statement?
Did David love God when he committed adultry? How about samson or king saul? Did the two theives beside Jesus get saved?
What did Jesus say to the two theives?
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise
It was by faith.

All believers love their Master but we cannot base our assurance on such an insufficient emotion. We have assurance because He cannot lie. Assurance comes from nothing in the believer but in the veracity of the Savior.
Salvation is by faith....not by love. If David loved god so much, why did he go out and commit adultry (among so many other sins)? It was by faith david was saved.
Abraham, if he loved god so much, why did he lie about his wife...why did he disobey god by settling down in a different land with his father, why did did he commit adultry?
What does the scripture say? Abraham was saved by not his love for god, not by his work.....IT WAS BY FAITH.
John doubted Jesus was messiah while John was in prison, Peter denied Christ 3 times......was it by love they were saved? NO, IT WAS BY FAITH.
Of course you did.No I did not put a requirement On salvation.
Are you suggesting a person does not Have to Love God?
By making such a statement you put a requirement on salvation that the Scriptures do not. And no I am not suggesting anything of the sort. What I am saying, which you love to try to twist, is that love is a fruit of salvation not an evidence of it or a requirement for it.Bluelion said:The question everyone must answer is if they love God in there[their] heart. Where does it say that love is salvation?
We got verses over and over that state salvation is by faith......not one of them say salvation is by love.
What does the scripture say? Abraham's love is counted on for his righteousness??!?!? Or does it say Abraham's faith is counted on for his righteousness?
The scripture also says God will punish those who loves. Does that mean he will sent the saved to hell? Of course not, it means he will punish the saved in this life if they keep sinning...but he will never send them to hell.
Of course you did.
