Jesus said, “...Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, , And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? ” (Matthew 19:4-5).
This is a reference to Adam and Eve.
Genesis 2:24 says,
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Evening and morning defines each day of the six day creation, and we see Adam and Eve is referred to being in the beginning. It says in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created....”
We see the creation of Eve for Adam.
The genealogy of Jesus can be traced through Mary's line in Luke chapter 3 all the way back to Adam (See: Luke 3:23-38).
Death only existed after the fall and not before.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12).
Yet, many Old Earth Creationists hold to a view that says that death existed prior to the Fall.
Many (not all) Old Earth Creationists hold to a local flood instead and not a global flood because it contradicts their science. But the Bible says,
“And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.” (Genesis 7:19).
